    I doubt the Marcondes rumour, as he would be on a lot more than our wage structure would allow, but the Downes deal looks a goer and we need to get it over the line before others start sniffing around. You can tell from the Ipswich fans' opinions that he would be a good signing - lots of experience already; England caps at youth levels; captained the Ipswich first team; already played 70-plus first team games and still only 22 years old - fits our spreadsheet very well. Get it done!!

    Downes sounds straight out of our template, decent number of games, captained the side, pretty much where Conor was when he joined us.

    It’s safe to say Mowatt is on his way if we are going to break the wage structure & sign Marcondes. We should sign Flynn Downes anyway though.

    What you save on the transfer fee you can afford to give the player abit more rather than spanking 900k on say schmidt then paying him x amount a week.

    Correct. Having a few players making multiple times the amount their team mates are making but contributing the same is a huge morale killer.
