Rights guys, lately we’re working 7 days a week and 12 hours a day. Last thing we want to do is cook a meal and I’ve had every takeaway 10 times over... so where do you get the best microwave meal and suggestions cheers Kev b
I quite like the Birds Eye microwave in the bag vegetables. Like you I work all the time. I make a big pot of something at the weekend, mostly curry, then warm a portion of that up in the week and have it with the Birds Eye vegetables. It makes me feel like I'm eating properly but I can get it done in 5 minutes without peeling and chopping and all that. It's not the most exciting, but they're nice, nutritious and it counteracts the cigs, drink, drugs and Rock 'n' Roll.
Sponge puddings. From scratch. It's why microwaves were invented. Prepared int time it takes to boil kettle fot custard. I make em to feed 8 portions. And eat 6 on em. Other than that . Icelands own curries and big naans. Farm foods kebab Meat. Obviously Sam's choice is more sensible lol.
I feel your pain and try to eat clean but sometimes you just need the convienence. M&S do the best range of fresh stuff but I've found some decent stuff in Iceland and usually have a few in the freezer for the times when I can't be bothered. I also, have a supply of canned curries and stews as an option of last resort which are easy to chuck together with microwave rice and/or frozen veg.
Iceland do some really nice steam bags, 4 for £3 (or 3 for £4) and they are really tasty. Not massive portions but definitely good lunch size, I wish we had a freezer at work so I could take them instead of a packed lunch. I also really like their shredded duck and pancakes.
Chuff me Microwave meals, a blast from the past. I genuinely cannot remember the last one I had, the one thing I can remember is that if you didn't wait for them to cool down you may as well stick your full tongue on a steaming Iron
Once after a very hectic day at work, I decided to call in at M&S and pick up one of the Microwave meals that folks had been banging on about. Got home and realised I didn’t own a Microwave. Gutted.
When we were in London for the playoff final v Ipswich my mate did this, bought a microwave meal and didn't realise why I'd asked how he was going to cook it until we got back to the hotel room
I do pretty much the same hours - recently I've been on the Morrisons Nourish range, currently two for a fiver in my local one. I'm not going to pretend that they've got everything a growing boy needs, but they're tasty and do have proper vegetables/ingredients in them - I find that makes a big difference. I'll throw the odd handful of frozen peas or sweetcorn straight in to add another portion of vegetables too. Quite often I'll be working from 9 or 10 in the morning til 1 at night, and I find that two of these and half a bottle of juice or smoothie at some point during the day can keep me feeling just about human!
Not when your at work wanting a quick fix. Could boil the milk in the kettle I suppose. Rather than forgetting it's in the pan and going all over the place lol.
