Hopefully tonight helps us for the Euros. The Chelsea lads will want to experience that winning feeling again and the Man City lads won't want to feel like they do right now in a hurry.
Chelsea’s defensive organisation was brilliant. They picked and ruthlessly won their battles. I think City had the individual quality, but Chelsea were a better team/unit. Still wish they both lost though.
He's managed three clubs all of which are giants in their own countries and blessed with untold millions which put their spending power way beyond the reach of most of their rivals. He's been able to buy the best players on the market wherever he's been. Here's a challenge for him. You've made your fortune, Pep now try managing Crystal Palace and let's see how good you actually are.
There are managers who can't manage top players. I don't think he's at all bothered about that challenge @churtonred . He played at the top clubs and he manages at the same. Wouldn't be surprised to see them win the champions league final in the next couple of years.
I feared for City when I saw the line-up. Playing Gundogan in the role of Fernandinho was a mistake. Gundogan is City’s leading scorer and his natural game is forward not breaking up play. Also playing Sterling wide instead of down the middle didn’t work,James had him in his pocket, he should have switched Foden to play wide. I know hind sight is an exact science but I thought Pep would not be outfoxed by Tuchel.
Disappointed in City but equally as impressed with Chelsea. City got their tactics all wrong but it doesn't take anything away from the defensive job that Chelsea did- likes of James were outstanding and completely snuffed out the attacking threat of City. As for Kante - wow - what a performance. He was everywhere on that pitch last night
I've no doubt he will win more Champions Leagues Helen whether at City or elsewhere. He's never proved he can do what Ismael has just done at Barnsley though.
In the case of Alan Shearer it doesn’t matter as Stones is in his rear view mirror on a permanent basis . England or City fail to score its Stones’s fault . midfield gets over run or stifled it’s Stones’s fault . Opposition Scores its Stones’s fault . The bloke is fixated on him and blames him Choose what and if Stones died anything good he glosses over it sharpish . Shearer is a Bully and I’d hate to have been a team mate of his .
Funny this as I spoke with Michael Chopra about shearer once. He was close to rejoining us on loan from Sunderland, he even came into the FITC soccer school camps to say hi to the kids. He actually referred to Shearer as being a bully on a couple of occasions.
