We've lost one & drawn one against a top side in this league. They were simply better than us yet we gave them plenty of scares and probably had the better chances.

Found this last week fascinating. The two performances have been pretty standard of our season - tight, direct, full of effort and graft. The difference from our run post January to this last month is not how we've played but that one moment of quality never really arrived from one of our big players. A Mowatt free kick, a mental Dike goal, a Styles screamer. When we were flying they were coming every week. Then they (understandably) dropped off. The luck ran out.

I remember Danny Wilson saying to me one of the biggest things that isn't talked about in football is just how important luck is. That's what we've been this season. We've earned it through hard work & intensity & good decisions, but doing what we've done this season has been on the back of so many things coming together perfectly.

    5 subs
    Struber leaving
    Val coming in
    Dike & Morris impact
    No injuries
    Reading miss
    Loadsa penalties
    Styles emergence
    Last min goals
    Helik/Brittain impact

Those 3 months post Jan were a perfect storm & we should always remember them. But don't start moaning about this week & pretending that's not how we've played for most of the season. It's been a great ride & here's hoping we're just as lucky next year because we've proven IMHO it's better to be lucky than good.

a random comment on YouTube under the highlights from last night sums it all up for me, a Turkish guy had wrote "I don't like Barnsley anymore, I am angry", think that is more how everyone is feeling, obviously us fans will still love our team, but the neutrals who adopted us as the barnstorming underdogs ,maybe reflecting their wish to do better in life than what they are must be frustrated by our efforts in both legs, maybe it was nerves or something you did not put in your list of reasons for winning,THE CROWD, think our young lads froze under the pressure
we produced one good move of quality that led to the goal and that itself as made me angry and frustrated too knowing how many good goals we scored this season , still love them but do not agree that how we played in play offs is same as we played all year
