Taking the positives out of it: Ismael 'more proud than disappointed' FT: Swansea 1-1 Barnsley (Agg: 2-1) Barnsley manager Valerien Ismael told Sky Sports: "Congratulations to Swansea, today they were very clinical. "I think we can be proud, it's been a fantastic journey, and today we fought until the very end. "We are disappointed but we will keep our heads up and reflect. "We've got one of the lowest budgets in the league and such a young team and we've pushed Swansea until the final minute. "It's been an unbelievable season, and good luck to Swansea and Brentford in the final. "After we scored we had a lot of time to score again, but the quality in the final third was not there to put Swansea under pressure. "The tie was decided by two moments of quality for Swansea's goals. "Sometimes you need to take a step backwards to come back stronger, and I am more proud than I am disappointed." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/57103715 Thank you for a wonderful season big man, hope you're still here come August. Now go have a well deserved break with your loved ones!
Best manager we’ve ever had. We’re just a couple of players short of promotion. Hope we can have another go next year.
Sounded on Sky like he won't be here next season. Hope he stays but if he goes so be it. Hecky, Johnson, Stendel, Struber and Val have all had success with us to varying levels. Our only head coach failure was Morais. If he goes I am sure the next guy will do just fine for us.
I really hope he is here next season and the owners are backing him after getting a taste for competing at the top end of this league. He has done us proud this season has Val. What a guy.
I didn't hear that at all. Reflecting over the summer means exactly that, reflecting on the previous season, learning and improving.
thanks for that. fair enough comment I reckon. he's been separated from his family for 12 months. Time to reflect is what he needs.
The man's been in football a long time, he's a realist. If a team with a big budget in Championship or top division team in European comes knocking he'll go. But until then he's our gaffer. Like he said he's sexy at the minute. I can't disagree he's a handsome man.
We need to sort his family out with a house, and tell em we have loads of coffee shops and takeaway coffee places. Stairfoot alone as more than Paris. I'd say he could buy a house next door to me, but it's not scientifically possible to have two adonis living so close together.
I've just been up to check on George. Him and Laura are what really matter. This season was a nice destraction but I'd lost track of reality through it all. I felt 12 again but I'm not 12 I'm 35 with a loving partner and beautiful child. Dreams can be shattered but life goes on. Glad it's over because like I eluded to before the Play-Offs are only good if you win them.
If he does leave, I hope it’s sorted out quickly. This season has shown what damage can be done by starting the season with an unhappy coach. Hopefully the club can work with him to come up with a plan for this transfer window though
