Vast majority of fans at all the other playoff games so far have all been wearing masks, whereas they seemed few & far between at Oakwell on Monday. Did we have different guidelines?
The instructions we were given were masks around the concourse and going to seats but no needed once you got to your seat
What the hell difference does it make? Walking to the ground, entering the ground, climbing the steps, moving to your seat, sitting there for a couple of hours - the “risk” is identical. No mask necessary. Absolutely pointless.
Re masks. If you've got someone singing, shouting and screaming with spittle flying in all directions and, most probably not adhering to the two metre rule at all times I'd be quite keen on them being masked up, inside or out!
It's going to be fun from June 21st. It's expected that masks will not be mandatory but encouraged. Typical government advice that's confusing. If you encourage people to wear them you would keep them mandatory. But then it's the party who picked amber for travelling instead of just green you can go and red you cannot go.
You wouldn't say that if you got showered with aerosols from someone coughing, sneezing, singing, shouting nearby. It never ceases to amaze me how many people still have so little awareness of how this thing is passed on.
I’ve stuck to the mask rules, without complaint, but outside where everyone is 2 metres apart is OTT. Driving around Wakefield yesterday I saw 2 people on separate occasions walking alone with a mask on- not near a shop or waiting for a bus, just walking in an urban setting, and it struck me as a bit daft.
If I was going from one indoor setting to another, I wouldn't take my mask off. You're not supposed to keep touching them. It's good that they weren't the stuff-in-the-pocket, chin strap brigade.
There are no guidelines for masks in your seat as its outdoors its personal choice. Cant do any better than that.
Again...they might be travelling from one shop to another. I've done that many times. I also wear one on the way to pick up a vulnerable person i.e. when taking them to medical appointments. Aerosols could hang in the air for them otherwise.
People still walk in the road to avoid people like they are a walking germ. I still occasionally see people driving alone in a mask. The stats are better than at any point during the pandemic, but you wouldn't know it with some.
