    I would’ve thought they’d be more ‘attractive’ clubs sniffing around VI at the moment. Preston, at best, would seem a sideways step for him.

    Bad decision. They are a similar sized club to us. Next season could be a relegation scrap for them, if they don't make the right appointment. Alex has done a good job there. I don't think hitting a playoff place every season is realistic for them, just like it isn't for us.

    Good manager. IMO a very bad knee jerk reaction from PNE board.
    Club deserves to be where they are acting like that.

    I just don't get the sacking so close to the end of the season. Fans are really anti him . Sounded really down and devoid of ideas in the interview after the match so maybe some rest and recuperation needed before his next job. He's certainly not the worst manager out there.

    January transfer window would have upset the balance. 8 newcomers ( 7 loan) only won 3 games and some disastrous results. Lost to Wycombe ( 4-1 and 1-0)
    Needed time the team to gel for me. But 7 loanees doesn’t bode well if they are to be returned in the summer.
    8 out also btw.
    Pretty sure he’ll not be out of work long.

    This is the problem with clubs like Preston, they punch above their weight for a couple of seasons then when they revert back their fans get frustrated. Just you watch on here if we’re in the bottom half next season.

    Had the spine of the club sold from under him halfway through the season, had to fill the squad with loans and has a owner incapable of agreeing new contracts with the many others out of contract they will lose in the summer. He's been made a scapegoat there and will find another championship club easily. PNE on the other hand could be a good bet for relegation next season. Once they lose all the players out of contract the owner can't agree terms with and the loans go back, the new man is going to have to build almost an entirely new team and hope they gel quickly and he will only see a fraction of what selling the likes of Pearson got them.

    Another example of poor ownership. A club running up masses of debt. Selling their best players to try and balance the books. Replacing them with loanees, journeymen and uninspiring freebies. The fall guy is always going to be the manager. They'll give the caretaker the job until the end of the season, then on a permanent basis when he inevitably has a slight new manager bounce. Relegated next season.
