I have seen the action replay 3 times and I have no idea what the pen was given for? Do they give penalties for simply being the fittest team in the league or something Supreme megamen have brought on three more ultrabeings after about an hour as they continue their relentless quest for control of the galaxy It is an amazing story really. I kept tabs of it and watched their game against Bournemouth and Wycombe. They are mixing styles and using subs well. Dike is a good addition too! Will be interesting to see if Mowatt suspension will impact them. I think they and Swansea are certainties for playoffs Kryptonite on its way to Oakwell. That should slow them down
It is an interesting notion that we’d be offended by other teams suggesting our players are superhuman! They seem a good bunch the Brentford fans to be fair.
Brentford are one of the London equivalents to us really. Surrounded by bigger, richer clubs but trying to compete in their own way...
I saw a good documentary, late at night at the weekend, on the channel 82, 'Together' . It was called Push up Brentford, I think. Really interesting, I didn't realise they had been close to going out of business before the current owner took over. The Bees Supporters Trust kept the club going. Apparently in the 60s, QPR tried to integrate them into their club, supporters and board dismissed that. Don't know why but I have always liked Brentford, perhaps it's because they are a small community club.
saying that Brittain was out on his feet for Wycombe goal, he could barely run, that's why his attempted clearance was so poor ,thank goodness we got international break
Absolutely. It's been bad timing for them to get to watch a game in their new ground. I would rather they went up than Swansea or Reading. Pinnock would do just fine in the top flight. They did really well last season, lost a few players because they didn't get promoted, but are up there again. That's the worry I have for us that if we are in this league next season and lose a few of our best players in the summer, will we still be challenging next season like Brentford have this.
You'd have to trust in the recruitment model now it's visibly been tweaked. I mean this for Head Coaches too. I won't think about it until if and when it happens. I've seen enough improvement during their tenure to give them (the owners) the benefit of doubt.
Imagine if we diddled them in the playoffs! They might develop an irrational, Peterborough-esque hatred of us.
Some really good places near the new ground too. Across the railway line at Kew bridge station you've the fantastic Railway tavern and if you don't mind Fullers, there's "One over the Ait" which has a sizeable outdoor area by the river. Plenty along the Thames Path too. When/If we get to play at their new ground in a post covid world, anyone, feel free to give me a shout and I'll share a walk from hammersmith to kew bridge thats one of my favourite in London with a good amount of sights, history and trivia. And pubs!
Yes our penalty was a tad dodgy to say the least. It evens its self out over a season tha nooos (Remember that handball at Oakwell Brentford?)
I'll be disappointed if this isn't used in the title of someones matchday thread on Saturday - not that I'm trying to influence them
