There should not be adverts on a paid service. I stopped paying for iFollow before, when I got a Sky Bet advert prior to a Daniel Stendel interview - but present circumstances leave me with no choice. Evernote don't hit me with adverts, because I pay £45 a year for their premium service. iFollow shouldn't be doing so, either.
I think one of the reasons it bothers me so much is because I've been following via iFollow and the older Barnsley Player for years and years. As part of that, I always listened to the full commentary which included a few minutes before kick off, the match and the post match analysis, it's very much part of my 'match-day experience'.
Also, everything else that does have adverts doesn't play them over the top of the content so you miss it, the content normally pauses whilst the advert plays. I think that is the biggest difference here.
I'll put myself in there ... watched the match enjoyed it and went to make a coffee when it finished so wasn't bothered about after match comments.
I'm guessing that the adverts are scheduled during all games at the same time (key word is guessing). Perhaps they could advise presenters when this will happen so they could adjust their chat accordingly?
Ive become used to it...but i wish they would replay the match the following day, so i could enjoy it without screaming at the tv for 95 mins!
Yes but are you in not bothered about them personally but think it's a poor product that cuts off mid summary? Or not bothered at all and think it's fine to do that?
Agreed. I don't really mind the adverts - I'll head off to make my cups of tea when they're on. But it can't be beyond their system to give the commentators the same feed with a countdown so that they can tailor whatever they want to say around it.
I agree. We should have a few HD camera drones over Oakwell & Mike up a kestrel for commentary. Meanwhile, in the 3rd/4th world..
I don't think it is a poor product... I watch the game with replays (unlike red button on sky) and I like the commentary team. I pay for sky but don't bother with the before and after bits I'd rather watch the match than the analysis
I thought you paid a fortune in rent in a posh village and was having some nice new carpets fitted. Meanwhile in the 3rd/4th world..
I actually really hope they don't for selfish reasons. I, and others paying for iFollow, have already lost the audio commentary we were used to for 'tv style' commentary, I don't want to have to now wait for 5 minutes to hear the after match analysis for tv adverts (we don't get adverts on audio only thank goodness). Play the adverts after the commentary has ended.
As somebody who has listened to every single match during previous seasons and has watched every single match this season I don't want to ever go back to listening rather than watching! I've never heard a half time or after match analysis this season, even though I suspect the guys do them. For me adverts have always been played over it, and generally the first thing I hear once the commercials are over is the closing remarks before they go for their half time break or stop the stream. I don't want adverts at all either, but if they're going to be there I at least want the commentators to talk at different times to them.
Are these adverts at half time ? I always make a drink at half time etc & sit back down to watch on point of kick off , I really do not know what people are moaning about , I might be missing something but I am enjoying the matches, no complaints at all
