Beating Nottingham Forest 3-1 during the 2010/11 season. We were brilliant that day and the atmosphere was amazing.
Stoke FA Cup - Steve Cooper Somersault Day Everton - FA Cup same season Man City - League Cup as mentioned above Bradford Promotion Game Liverpool - Premier League (Crazy) Walsall - Play Offs (Atmosphere in town was amazing) Leeds - Hourihane’s last game Spurs - FA Cup (Premier League Season) Chelsea - FA Cup quarters
Yeah the Everton game sticks out for that in 2015. I think it was 12,000 in the ground but the East Stand and Ponty were packed and Everton nearly filled the end behind the goal.
The cup game against Stoke was the best atmosphere I can remember and it was back at the time when you could look at the stands and genuinely have no idea what the attendance was going to be. I think it was read out at 21,000 ish and I wondered how we could get anymore in than we had. Then we went and squeezed another 11,000 in for the Everton game.
I seem to remember them putting some temporary seats on there for a game years back - Chelsea in 2008 maybe? Maybe if we sold out of Season Tickets for the prem they could stick some seats on there.....
The 2-0 win against Leeds always sticks in my mind. Think dagnall scored 2 quick goals that day. Most of the 2nd half of that season was great
My defining memory of that game was the whole ground belting out a rendition of “are you Chelsea in disguise”
It was, and they put it down as an o.g. against their player. I still don't know if it's been credited to Howard though...
Lots of the games mentioned and most games King Ronnie was playing in , he always cranked up the atmosphere when he got the ball . One game sticks out to me was the great escape season at home to Hull . Three sides of the ground as one singing three little birds , absolute magic .
That home semi final against Walsall was as good as any I can remember if not the best. The place was absolutely bouncing. Certainly from where we were in the Ponty. I think it was the crescendo of an unbelievable second half of the season where we were virtually unstoppable and straight on the coat tails of that majestic demolition of Wigan on the last day of the season. The feeling that we were just too good for anyone else was intoxicating and I think it showed that day. Unforgettable.
Man Utd cup replay. Great atmosphere that night. Notable for Toby Tyke falling over in front of 3000 Man U fans on his goal run and not getting penalty
