do you think the board will now now move to the next part of the stated plan?

i.e. we will still shop at Aldi for the odd bargain, but we'll be looking to shop at Waitrose from now on?

I’m more concerned about how much they’ll want to cash in on the bargains they’ve already got, and replace with the deadwood that’s been out on loan. But trying to not think about the next transfer window

That would all rely on them not taking the first bid on our better player's and only sell at over exaggerated transfer fees!

Can I ask what makes you think this and proof they’ve done it already?

You could argue we already have. Kane was an expensive signing. I don't know how much we paid for Morris, but I would imagine it was a reasonable chunk.

I wasn’t making a prediction, just a concern of what could happen.

Quotes from Murphy in this column didnt fill me with confidence https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/why-barnsley-are-first-test-water-across-pond-3127150
where he says there weren’t substantial bids for anybody and we’ll see what things are like in the summer when things are more normal. Read like he would expect bids to come in and players to be sold.

I would expect at least one player to be sold anyway, as the club needs income, I just hope the team isn’t dismantled like the promotion team was

A think we all have to admit that we’ll lose a few, unfortunately as Barnsley fans we have to watch unheard of players doing well and putting themselves in the shop window, it’s happened for the last 25 years. What we hopefully have now is a board that can withstand cheap **** offers and demand big money, this then will give us a far greater footing In the league, there track record in the short Time they’ve been here is pretty good imo, we’ve had a promotion, a surprise win in the relegation battle last season and who knows where this year will take us, we’ve had 3 very good managers and other than Jacob Brown (who I think we got a good deal for) we’ve not lost anyone. If someone comes in with £20m for Styles and £10m for Helik will they go, 100%, will in blame them, not at all. It’s business sadly........

I heard £300k for Morris. What an absolutely incredible bit of business if so.

Yeah I saw that as well. His contract at Norwich was up at the end of this season so they were happy to get something for him

If we sold for those prices, I’d have absolutely no problem at all with the sales. My suspicion is that a quarter of each figure would tempt the club.

I just hope if/when we sell one player then that means there is less need to sell others and that becomes reflected in what fees would be needed for them. And that we don’t sell multiple players from the same position

Club all of a sudden looks a better prospect for the current players and any future ones, hopefully we can now advance.

I think Helik and Styles will attract a lot of interest in the summer, and both will be difficult to hang onto. Assuming Mowatt goes too, the midfield is going to need a bit of investment.
