If you take into account that you can get booked for ‘intent’, a yellow for a tackle just below the knee seems pretty lenient to me. The time of the tackle, ie: very early on, saved him from a red for me.
I missed this challenge, but I looked on the Bristol City forum before, and they said it should have been a red.
First 5 mins they should have had a red, and then we weren't given a pen. Also looked like handball on the line from a corner but ref gave a non existent foul on the keeper. Cheers ref
High up and studs first. Don't know about football, but in rugby the ref has a protocol to follow, they walk it through with the TMO, was it high, was it on the head, were there any mitigating factors (players was falling, tackler didn't have time to adjust etc). Football refs seem to stick their finger in the air and make a best guess.
