We must keep Morris, Dike and Mowatt at all costs. That is all. Credit to the entire team, real good performance. We see our team get broken up often, usually when we're at our very best (I'm still not over selling Vaz Te when we were a top 10 team and then sliding down the table) but please let there be a change. I thought we looked real good in this game, some better placed passes when we were attacking and it could've been a blowout. Wasn't always pretty, especially in part due to the condition of the field haha but we never looked in danger of losing. Dike & Morris I already mentioned them but they really were giving it their all every second they were on the field. Very happy fan right now, just feels nice not to worry about relegation in this league for a change, let's keep it this way. YOU REDSSSSS
Must also keep, Mads, Helik, Solly, Bury Baggio, Woodrow, Palmer, Brittain..... sod it there's too many to type out.... Need to keep everyone, but most of all need to keep Valerien Ismael. He's a real find this guy, looks to be one in a million
Keep all of em, for now.. Recruitment never stops. Other clubs dally & don’t think ahead as a player leaves. That’s one thing we’ve got right, last few seasons. It’s hit & miss with some, but a lot of **** appears to be sticking, recently.. They’re all world beaters to me, it’s what keeps me ticking..
Thing is, weve more or less done it 2 windows now, brown aside. Of course we are seeing the benefit of it, but we know we will sell someone. We cant grumble, as long as we dont lose 4 or 5. That could be an issue So credit where it's due, if we had have gone down last season, christ that would have been disastrous. We didnt, and have been able to retain and push on. I darent think how we all would be and what we would have lost had we gone down. So, I'm taking all this in whilst I can. We need to. And we need to give the owners some credit here tbh.
I’m not sure what our chances are of Mowatt stay, or whether we have a realistic chance of agreeing a deal with Dike. But if Mowatt goes, we need to keep styles and sign a left wing back. If Dike leaves we need to sign a new striker. Thomas and Ritzmaier returning to take their places at the same time as fans coming back wouldn’t be a good mix...
The whole teams good when they’re good and the noticeable difference to the whole shebang from 2017 is we actually strengthened in January and are still pushing on - to what? Who knows? But it’s a lot more promising than last time we were this high up the table.
what we really need to do is keep Big Val! How good is to to have a motivational manager who knows what he wants from his players and lets the opposition worry about us instead of the other way round!
I think that we are reaching the point in squad development at which we can sell on some players for biggish fees and know that we have tested replacements to come straight in. It would then be a question of picking out the next youngsters to nurture in that position. So, I could see Woodrow being allowed to leave for a better fee than Cardiff reportedly offered, knowing that we have players already in the squad (as long as Dike stays on). The squad could stand that and the income would be re-invested in another young goalscorer/target man in the VI mould. I could also see Styles moving on, knowing that Jordan Williams and Clarke Oduor are already proven at this level. We already have acquired Kitching to fit in there as well, as in Mads Andersen's place, should he move on. If the Styles and Southampton move is on in the summer, this could be a record fee for us, as they can pay top dollar, so I would start negotiating at £10 million and we would probably pick up £5 million plus add-ons and sell-on slice. The positive is that we now seem to be getting the incoming players developed to Championship competency before selling the family silver. Needs careful management, but looking good. Big credit to Dane, I would think, for this, but it needs keeping the incoming/outgoing spreadsheet neatly balanced. Try reading Alex Ferguson's book on player management. Maybe Dane has, because he is applying its principles very well.
If Mowatt has said what's being reported in the attached article, it gives realistic hope that true to his word, because he is the skipper and plays regularly and he has no desire to leave the Club, the Board will meet his expectations salary wise and he will sign his new deal and put all the uncertainty behind him. https://the72.co.uk/222605/well-sit...ts-timescale-on-contract-talks-with-barnsley/
