When the national broadcaster send three pundits across the country just to stand on a makeshift balcony in an empty stadium? I know they're allowed to but does that mean they should? And it's us, the licence fee payers who are funding it too
Have you ever thought that it might be cheaper than paying for the studios and associated infrastructure??
It's cheaper than the MOTD studio? In that case why have the BBC been wasting money for years instead of presenting from a temporary studio built in a football stadium?
Supertyke has spoken. Match abandoned. Arrests & big fines, imminent. Stay tuned for further expert analysis on stuff we know nowt about..
We don't own the studio block. Owned by Dock 10 and studios leased to us, ITV, Channel 4 and others. It would be impractical for a normal MOTD with highlights of multiple games to do it from a stadium. Which club would keep the lights on for us till midnight? Where would you site all the post-production facilities?? Solitary live games, where we control the match pictures are easy in that regard, plus it's a relatively minor 'add-on' for us to put in presentation facilities. Hope that helps.
Perspective required IMO. Same with celebrations. They have all been tested so not really a big risk.
