It has to be the worst England performance in years. It's so rare to not score a try all game or to draw a blank in a half.

Ah well Scotland were not really given much of a chance before the game but we rose to the challenge.
Well done the boys in blue

I prefer Rugby league, but fair play to Scotland today, absolutely dominated England, score was quite close but they were miles better.

Can't argue with that....dominated for 80mins and it should really have been more.

Well done Scotland. Deserved it - they were excellent. England were awful.

Congratulations Ian, well deserved win, should have been by a bigger margin.

Scotland were miles better than us. Well done.

We were abject - that's the worst performance I can remember. Ever.

Kept waiting for England to start playing and they never did. Did they even get into the Scottish 22 second half. I kept hoping we would produce a bit of magic but in truth it never looked like happening. Scoreline flattered England. Could easily have lost by 20 points or more on that showing

Great result and a little disappointed that the scoreline didn't reflect the performance. Probably the best Scotland team for more than 20 years and the good thing is there's still more to come. Hogg and Gray were epic today.

Even when rugby is at its best it's really not very good. It's a poorly conceived game that's difficult to understand and offers little opportunity for anyone to show any skill. That's not to say watching rugby isn't any fun. The atmosphere is miles better than a football game. There is zero violence in the crowd (plenty on the pitch) and it affords a great opportunity for a good piss up. Primarily because no one cares about the result or the game, because it's crap, so the whole point is to just enjoy yourself.
Which brings us to this. Today wasn't a good game. It was a terrible example of a terrible sport. It's not that unusual, it happens all the time with rugby. This wasn't the worst England performance ever. They perform like this all the time. It's just that usually everyone is drunk and having a good time so no one cares. But now we're in lockdown and people are watching it as a sport rather than a day out and the only thing to analyse is the game itself. And it's a monstrosity.

Scotland won. Deservedly so, it should have been more. But no one cares and watching it is actually painful. Rugby won't survive if lockdown continues much longer as it has no redeeming features other than the bar. And the bar's shut.

Well played Scotland. England beaten on their own muck heap by Scotland since 1983
and what's more, it was not a fluke and was thoroughly deserved. My old mate Alex
Goodall will be raising his glass over in Donny tonight. Well done Scotland.

Does that apply to both codes Jay. Cos I’m with you on union. But I like league, At it’s best it’s a brilliant spectacle. This is from someone who’s not played either, even at school. We didn’t cover rugby at all. Wombwell high.

Only been to Twickenham once, that was in 1977 for the 5 nations match against France. It peed it down the whole game and the crumbling ruin that Twickers was back then had no roof. Luckily I was stood next to French lad that was wearing a big round loaf of bread as a hat and managed some shelter, still got soaked though. England lost 4-3 (4 points for a try back then). Just like today England huffed and puffed to no avail and France scored with the only bit of quality play. Mind it only cost £1 to get in....

I really don't know anything about league.

I don't know much about union either, this wasn't a serious post but there is a grain of truth to it.

Whatever you're into is obviously OK, but football can be beautiful, even at schoolboy level, and quite regularly, where as I don't think you get that nearly as often with rugby union. It's not that it doesn't exist, I've seen it, but I do believe it's a much rarer commodity and that's why it's not as popular.

Having said that, the route football is taking with VAR is destroying everything that is good about it.

You know nothing about rugby mate.

I suggest that you try and stick to soccer.

Rugby is that crap a game that there's 80000 plus whenever England play at home.

They're all obviously less educated than you when it comes to deciding upon what a sporting spectacle is.

80000 people having fun and getting drunk. Undeniable. Ask them to explain the rules.
