I’m actually saving hoovering the stairs as a special treat. Cobwebs too. Not been done for ages, more dog hair than carpet & that’s even with having to carry him up & down. I got one of those lightweight jobs having nearly died humping the big hoover around. I’ll treat myself with that job when I get a reasonable week’s worth of drawing work finished. It’s stuff like this that makes life as a middle age bachelor so rewarding..
That’s what I mean. I was used to small flats in London. Now I live alone (with whichever old adopted terrier) in this very quirky 18th century cottage, loads of structural problems & too big for me, since I got poorly. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I keep it clean & tidy as poss, on the off chance Shenk might come round. But am supposed to be moving to a more suitable Wentworth house sometime this year, so am buggered if I’m spending anymore money on a gaff, that I don’t even own. & to think I was once housekeeper/conservator at a major English Heritage site.?
Pre virus, when Jeannie could visit. I would get a cleaner in to properly do the house. But I would clean to make it presentable for the cleaner. Then, when the lass rolls up & she’d find something to clean too. Never ends, madness. Like Hyacinth Bucket on speed. My endearing habit of accidentally leaving drawers & cupboard doors open, still goes misunderstood..
DAB is a “Dortmunder” not Düsseldorf . There’s great rivalry between Dortmund and Munich as to who brews the best beer. I do agree though that DAB is very nice drop and a favourite of mine.
