    I knew when these billionaire owners took over we'd be mixing in different circles financially. I just hope if we are sold it isn't to Tesco and the new owners want to spend a little bit more money.

    What happens when they run out of cash, or interest?

    Why should football think it can be run differently to any other ‘business’.

    More seriously, thankfully the Moneyball model means they absolutely won’t be throwing cash at their ‘investment’.

    So those who were in the group trying to buy Newcastle might look to buy us. Seeing the crown prince of Saudi Arabia sat in the directors box in the west stand as a part owner would be the weirdest moment in our clubs history and we've had Mido play for us.

    I think I'm done if that happens. I'd rather sever ties with Barnsley than be complicit in it being used as yet another sportswashing vehicle for a dubious regime with no regard for human rights.

    No, the Saudi group is PCP/Reuben/PIF, the tweet is saying if the Saudi group don't get permission to buy Newcastle Billy Beane might jump in and buy Newcastle or us, since his proposed merger with the owners of Liverpool has fallen through.

    I wish I could say the same. I'd find it extremely distasteful, but honestly I can't help thinking that I'd give back in to temptation eventually.

    If only there were a legible route to at least partial ownership by the fans, or rules in place similar to those in Germany.

    It means that the PCP consortium are currently trying to takeover NUFC (not RedBall). But if the consortium fails, then RedBall may go at the NUFC takeover alone.

    I find the whole Red Ball Corp set up very odd.

    Huge amounts of alleged capitalisation with hedge funds piling in. Set up in the Cayman Isles, so zero transparency and disclosure and after a good amount of time since its set up, it doesn't seem to have actually acquired anything (stake or outright) as yet, having been seemingly rejected by Liverpool and Boston Red Sox.

    And one of our alleged owners/stakeholders/investors is involved in this set up.

    All very strange.... among several descriptors that could be used.
