Only the best manager to play little old Barnsley. Should never have been appointed in the first place. He needed to learn the ropes first.
Agree. Although he hasn't lost face. Everyone knows Abramovich is trigger happy. He might be better waiting for Moyes to boll ax it up at West Ham.
Could argue he's not been given a proper chance. However, he has performed poorly considering the financial backing he has had this summer. And he knows as well as anybody that Chelsea expect results instantly. Can't imagine many other top clubs being interested in appointing him now. Gonna have to take a step back to champ/lower prem or Scotland to build his reputation again.
Think he’s done a pretty poor job. A lot of his supporters have claimed he did a good job last season as they finished top 4 but they were pretty dire. They were 33 points off the title & only got in the top 4 due to Arsenal & Spurs having their worst seasons in many years in which they both sacked their managers. They only finished 12 points in front of Sheff Utd & Burnley. Off the top of my head 66 is probably the lowest points total any sides needed to get in the champions league in over a decade & that kept him in a job. The cup final defeat to Arsenal was a shocker as well. Arteta outwitted him & turned the game around despite having a far weaker squad. I’d say he was pretty lucky to keep his job this long given how harsh Abramovich has been in the past with Ancelotti, Di Matteo etc. They’ve got an outstanding squad with at least two quality players for every position. In a season where Liverpool & City have had lots of COVID & injury issues Chelsea should be right in the mix like Man Utd are.
Too much for him at that age - needed to earn his spurs at lower level. The Chelsea job has seen off far more experienced managers than Lampard
I don't think he's very good. He took Derby from sixth to sixth, and has spent fifth of a billion pounds in the summer to sit below Villa, who have two games in hand on them. We probably didn't have much chance of beating them in the cup, but those chances have now receded still further.
If Tuchel comes in and doesn't win any of his first half a dozen games ........ ???? Total madness in my eyes. They brought FL initially under a transfer imbargo to introduce the youth players. It's only a few weeks ago they were on a 16 match unbeaten run. And even Abramovich has made a statement. He's Russain and its still longer than 21 words.
