Must have been great to be involved in Sports broadcasting to make your living MF. For years, my mates brother Howard Huntridge produced light entertainment shows for TV. Not certain, but think he was a guiding light in the careers of the likes of Bruce Forsyth and Paul Daniels. Had a night out with him and his brother and he was telling us as well as the brass he earned, it was a pleasure to get into the studio every single day. There's not many folks who work for a living can say that. Happy retirement by the way.
Not retiring yet....bit young for that! Yes, been very lucky - always tell the young 'uns at work how privileged they are when they start moaning about 'owt - 'try doing a proper job for a few weeks!' It's taken me to places and events I'd never have got to under my own steam - multiple olympics, world cups, australia twice, japan, china, brazil, the usa, canada and all over Europe. Even filmed at tarn a few times! Never worked in LE, but did a couple of years in news. It's got harder as the budget's shrunk in recent years, but I have genuinely loved it.
