doing set piece drills, for me with young lads, when its cold and icy not good tactics, dragging them in at that time , unless they had managed a sleep again in afternoon, not good ,means by time of game been up at least 12 hours anyone any knowledge of this, for me our young team need to be in bed as long as possible morning of a game, they ran about a lot, but thought they lacked mental sharpness last night, more mistakes and bad decisions than seen in a while do we have a team meal at club?, all these things go into a performance
To me when I heard that mentioned on commentary i thought it was absolutely stupid. That's a very long day and it's winter. I don't see the point of training at a time we never play matches.
Not sure what the problem is, they looked fit & never tired in the match , leave it to the coaches to decide whats best , of course if Val needs any expert tips ,he can always come on here the experts will put him right on fitness training etc .
Is Barnsley Football Club part of a pilot group that has already scrapped the EU Working Time Directive?
Exactly right, it’s about time Barnsley fc realised that Dave from Kendray is far more knowledgeable than any of our qualified fitness coaches in all footballing matters
I wouldn't mind, but it looked like our set pieces were made up on the spot, maybe they should come in at 0700 and practice a bit more
In the afternoon they probably had a story then had to put their head on their arms on their desk and have a sleep .
It’s Mowatt’s fault he’s a yard too slow, so they have to come in earlier. Oh, and he doesn’t try or care
Don't really see a problem with it at all, a long day jesus its not like there down pit. There practicing set prices at 9am for a hour or so. They probley should have practiced defending long throws because we looked all over place when defending those.
We can’t practise them because we can’t whip them into the box like other teams! Let’s be honest, and I know we scored from one of Kane’s but, Frieser’s and Kane’s throws aren’t really of great length are they.
It’s happened before under other managers, it happened a lot under Simon Davey. Not that he’s a great example to use mind.
More nonsense. They had a 90 minute tactical session at 9am then went home. They returned in the evening for the match.
Don't know kanes and freisers aren't bad they aren't as good as the ones swansea were throwing in though. You could still practice them even if your just setting up at attack and defend them, just get the thrower to move 5 yard forward to replicate them. We just looked all over place defending them.
Ah but the poor lambs had to get up at 8 to be in for that Were they practicing that short corner routine? Seiously though this is a none story isnt it
I was just joking really, definitely a good idea to practise them of course. I wish our throw ins were “pinged in” rather floated but I suppose not every team has a long throw specialist.
