Why do they never shut up. We can see the game live so why are they necessary? If you were at Oakwell would you want a constant commentary of the match over the loudspeakers?
Not everyone has video footage, some, like my dad, has audio only. Not everyone has sight. Mute it if you don’t want it.
It’s a bit more than a fiver! He never buys a season ticket because of his shift patterns so he buys an audio pass for £40 odd quid for commentary for all games that he can listen to when not working or on his commute. There’s 46 games in a season, that’s £460 at a tenner a pop. Even if he can only watch half that’s still £230 quid, so almost £200 quid extra. In reality it’s probably 2/3rds so we’re talking around £260 extra. They’re a mixture of home and away though so not worth a season ticket, especially when he’s been listening without watching for over 20 years so he’s used to it. I only got a season ticket 3/4 years ago once I could afford it. Matt Bailey is the soundtrack to our matches and always has been.
Thank you for pointing this out. I was only saying last night that the Sky commentators do not talk as much as our lads on Ifollow. I didn't realise that it is the same commentary for the audio pass subscribers.
I don’t mind commentators commenting on the game as it unfolds. It’s the personal opinions of what they think is going on that pisses me off. Surely if they were great at analysing games and players they would be top managers themselves. One of the worst is Johnathan Pearce. Just a boring fart.
