Agree with you about Morris, I think he will be a decent addition.
Chaplin has been woeful, needs moving on if we want to improve the team / squad.

Think you,ll find he,s had 2 serious injuries that’s why he ain’t established himself at Norwich.

We've several potential goalscorers in the squad already, but no foil for them to play off.

Morris appears to be a different type of striker to the others we have (barring maybe Adeboyejo). He could be just the sort of physical presence that allows us to get the best out of Woodrow and Chaplin.

I'm not concerned over Morris' own goal return, so long as he assists in improving that of the strikers (and even the midfielders) we currently have.

We could sign another player who is similar to Woodrow, who is capable of 15-20 goals a season, but what use is that if we don't have the players around them to allow them to score 15-20 goals.

Woodrow and Chaplin are clearly missing someone who does the hard graft of getting the ball on the deck, and into dangerous areas. Brown's work often went unnoticed, but you only have to look at the number of assists he got last season to notice where the problems currently lie in the current squad.

I agree he has been poor this year, but there is a player in there, i just don,t see it with frieser, schmidt and miller not good enough, vic too similar to Morris and better as an impact sub, they may also sign another forward of course...

So condensed... we need a big physical striker - Morris, to replace a fast winger - Brown.

We shouldn't be signing any players who score own goals...

That's not what I meant. Granted Brown played wide in a front 3 (as did Morris at Rotherham according to a few things I've read), and Morris appears to be more of a target man. Brown often won the ariel battles, and got the ball into dangerous areas in the box. We're lacking someone with that presence.

We could go out and sign someone with 20 goals to their name in league 1 or 2, but what use would that be, when we can't even get Woodrow, a proven championship goalscorer, into clear goalscoring positions.

I can see all Vals signings being built like brick **** houses as it suits his power pressing vertical football style he plays.

Lets see how many under 6ft come in.

Maybe we'll sign more than one forward?

And whilst I've absolutely no idea if Morris is any good or if he's coming, you'd think the BBS would learn from poor predictions. It's only October that the BBS decided Brittain wasn't going to be good enough and Ludewig was the next Andy Brehme. :D

With the number we have on our books already, I think more than 1 will have to go out before more than 1 comes in. I honestly can't see that happening given the current climate.

That doesn't concern me too much, as I feel that a striker who can hold the ball up might just be the tonic to get Woodrow and Chaplin firing again. Maybe even Frieser and Schmidt too.

Whilst it's a few years ago, I was very impressed with Morris at Shrewsbury. He seemed to get a lot out of Stefan Payne that season from what I recall too.

I can't comment on him obviously. But as Val and Dane have said previously, there will be incomings and outgoings. And the hope is that by the end of the window, our squad that sits 10th is better equipped for the rest of the season.

I have every confidence in us getting players in. I honestly think we're a hold up striker and a left wing back (so Styles can move centrally) short of being a top 6 side.

Keeping James for the season is also key to that too.

That was one of my favourite “player pre-judged” moments. Brittain being ***** because he was coming from MK and he had a situation with his contract in the summer and Ludewig seemingly improving as the minutes went by. I think everyone is convinced by Callum now.

Should probably just trust those who get paid to scout and sign players. We get far more right than wrong I’d say.

can't remember much discussion about Callum, feels like he's always been in the team somehow.
