Doing well for a team nine without a clean sheet. If we sort out that we can challenge for promotion. Ask me 1st of February when the transfer window is shut and we've got through January which looks a very tough month of fixtures.
Mixed feelings. The points keep racking up but the performances aren't looking promising. I didn't just watch a playoff aspiring team. Or did I?
I think our defence is as good as we could hope to have its up front that needs to be sharper for us to really be flying.
I for one would be happy with just missing out on the Playoffs, This Team is just not ready for bigger things imho. Let's be content to be there or thereabouts for two or three seasons then (as long as Chien & Conway don't decide to cash in the assets along the way) we can think about it.
I think we're all a bit forgetful of what it is like to be a decent team. We've been amazing, like the teams under Hecky or Stendel, or we've been fairly dire. All those times we lost to poxy teams under Davey when we were crap, when they left they all likely thought they been crap, but they still left with the points. I think we're in a good place, we've got a style of play and tactical awareness, with some genuine quality in the squad.
I think we are in a false position nowhere near good enough for the play offs. Midtable at best. Need more quality and pace up front we are too slow and predictable.
Reminds me of the 80s and 90s when you use to hear fans saying Barnsley don't want to go up. What a load of crap you have to grab success with both hands whether you deserve it or not cos we fully know how quick situations change.
Think we'll finish the season midtable, which is a massive step up for us and I'd be more than happy with that. We play every second of every game in the same formation. Everyone knows what's expected of them, they all work hard, and there's some quality in there. As such we'll continue to beat teams against whom we're better organised and stronger. But the better teams will continue to beat us. We make no concession for the fact that some teams have better players, we do not compensate for that by adjusting our tactics and we'll continue to lose some games without the opposition breaking sweat. Plus, there will be no draws and victories due to the work done on the training field to counter how a particular team plays, but as a top half of the table team that work will be done by opposition teams in order to beat us.
No predictions from me, we have to take each game as it comes. But I’m confident we’ll win every single one, so do the maths..
