    Its nice to see that at last John Stones career seems to be back on track , he is getting regular game time again & City have started to get clean sheets again with our John at the heart of things . I noticed on Match of the day Johns return to form was mentioned & that Gareth Southgate would be keeping an eye on him . I think that as his career started to nose dive the media were into his ribs at every opportunity so it was refreshing to hear the comments on MOD . It is only as recent as the last world cup when John was selected in the best eleven of the tournament , so although he has had lengthy sticky patch there is still one hell of a player in there . I for one wish him all the best & as a Barnsley fan nothing would make me prouder than to see him with the 3 lions on his shirt & playing for his country again .

    Looked solid in the Man city game and made some key passes.

    I'm not an expert on Premier League football by any means, but when I've seen him in the past he always seemed to take too many risks for someone playing at the back. He's a good footballer so he got away with it a lot, but he left himself open to losing the ball in key areas and when you're up against the pace and strength of players in that league it was bound to catch him out. And it did.

    I've seen him a couple of times recently and he played an accurate easy ball to a teammate in space every time and looked much better player because of that.

    Played 4 out of the last 5 for City. Things seem to have settled down for him now, he's getting game time, hopefully he's over the niggling injuries and he appears to be doing the basics well. He's keeping Laporte out of the team and he's earnt a lot of praise from Guardiola who thinks he's getting back to his best. Keep it up Stonesy lad.

    It’s mad to think there were people genuinely saying Keane & Tarkowski & Mings were better than him. He’s a class act. First choice two seasons in a row when they got 100 points & then 98 the following season. Did this partnering Otamendi.

    He’s had a tough 18 months with injuries & personal issues but when fit & in form the only other English centre back that gets near him is Joe Gomez.

    Just got to hope his body handles the busy schedule & he’ll be first choice for the Euro’s.

    And it was only a month or two ago when Liverpool fans were mentioning how poor he's been. Every player has ups and downs. Stones has been immense these past few weeks.

    I wouldn’t be concerned if he didn’t get selected for England in the immediate future. I’d prefer him to concentrate on his club career and solidify his position in the Man City team

    Yeah once his steady relationship with his childhood sweetheart ended his form dropped for ages. He finally seems back to something like his old self.

    Pep being very complimentary about John Stones and amongst other things he goes on to say;

    “We are delighted, and especially because he's an incredibly nice person. His mum and dad must be so proud of how nice a person he is and his daughter has a top father."

    If that isn’t a dig back at a certain article that appeared in a certain newspaper that shall remain nameless, I don’t know what is

    Nice one Pep
