    Not seen it mentioned but what a game this lad had yesterday. Unstoppable. He could easily have let his head drop when he got dropped but he came back and put in a defensive display as good as any I’ve seen in a red shirt.

    Doug O'Kane tweeted out about his performance too after the game, he really was good last night.

    Incredible numbers by Michal Helik tonight. 17 aerial battles won, ten clearances – and he also made the most tackles. An impressive return to the side for the Polish centre-back. #barnsleyfc

    Totally agree. It’s a testament to both the player’s metal strength and attitude and also to Val’s man management that he came back in with that display.

    Feel for Halme though, think there could be some rotation between Halme, Andersen and Helik to get them all game time and rest them when needed. Will do all of them the world of good.

    Yes, that’s what I meant by feel for Halme, I think he had a good game against Wednesday and wouldn’t have been dropped otherwise.

    I wasn’t clear in what I meant though.

    Totally agree, he’s been a great signing so far, aside Reading away.

    I like this guy and was sad to see him dropped, rested, whatever it is these days. But so glad he came back in and put a MOTM performance last night.

    Still not overly fussed on the owners, but credit for identifying this guy along with Brittain. Great work!

    They all looked rock solid and tough last night. It rubs off on the rest of the team. I especially liked the love tap (soft kick in the stomach) Solly gave Victor after he won a free kick near the touchline which knocked the wind out of him.

    Totally agree with you.
    Another terrific signing by the club. He's strong. No fkng around. Powerful in the air. Mebbe lacks a bit of pace but v calm and controlled.

    It was mentioned in Jay’s thread last night.

    All 3 centre backs were great. Like you say though, to come back in to the side like that was impressive.

    He wins everything in the air, even when the centre-forward tries to elbow him out of it. Great competitor and doesn't seem to miss anything in the air.
