It's a great goal. He's really benefiting from a run in the side and Ismael has given him some proper self belief. Would much rather him coming on for 20 minutes than Schmidt.
That lad has come on in leaps and bounds in the last few weeks. He causes the opposition no end of problems every match that he has come on as sub. The manager obviously saw some talent there that not many people had thought possible. Well done Victor. And our manager.
Just before Victor scored yesterday I said I'd bring Schmidt on. Still think he has something to offer if we need a goal in the last 10 minutes. Unfortunately I've never seen him offer anything unless we're in that all out attack mode.
He has been superb in decent games. Strong, intelligent, hard working and some quality finishes. Starting to look like we have a real player on our hands.
It’s just bizarre how certain managers see qualities in certain players and use it to bring the best out of them. Mowatt was packed off to Oxford, on loan, yet Stendel came in, saw these qualities and literally assembled his team around him. I have never (before Big Val’s stint) seen anything in Adeboyajo to convince me he has what it takes to be a professional footballer, but Big Val has made me, happily, change my view. The lad now plays full of self belief in his ability and has also, at long last, started using his physicality to his advantage. Also turns out he knows how to hit the target too, in style.
the whole thing was class, Cauley took out four defenders, he was looking in the opposite direction to the pass he made. As well as the finish the run by Victor was timed to perfection, any premier league front line would have been proud of that goal.
What I really loved was 5 mins after Victor came on he turned a ball and literally ran over the top of their left back who stood in his way..then after trampling him underfoot and the ref giving the foul turned and said.. " me ref.." this is what we've bin lacking.good lad Vic..COYR
