I remember a lot of us being concerned when Dane Murphy(I think?) told us that the search for a new striker was going to be eased because of the "emergence" of big Victor. After his last few performances, I see what he was meaning!
Been very effective as a sub this season and obviously grown in confidence since given his chance by val long may it continue, good assist by woodrow too.
Everyone, myself included, was like “eh?” when he came out with that. Victor has been superb coming off the bench this season.
I'm not afraid to admit I didn't see a player in him, especially not one at this level. Just shows you what hard work and decent coaching can do for a young player. Wonder if there is any more in the youth teams ready to step up?
He's got a terrific physique as well. Strong in the challenge, good turn of speed and no little skill when he gets near goal. Victor could be the answer to our long-awaited big number nine problem.
