Grinding out wins Back 3 look solid Depth in the middle of the park Effective substitutes Emergence of the young guns Three wins out of four on the road at what point do we start to believe that the playoffs can be achieved. We are a brute of a striker away from been a mid table to a top six team..
Back three dunt look solid. I was going to ask how long people would be satisfied with "mid-table-mediocrity" earlier.
I'm not expecting it to last forever, but a couple of shrewd signings at the beginning of the transfer window and we might just about worry the playoffs. And that would do me just fine!
Is that more to do with planned strategy or to do with the fact that COVID has skewed things? Watching Quest and thinking its a bit unfair on the Championship teans hoping to go up automatically this season that those clubs coming down from the Prem haven't lost key players in the way they usually would.
Yes. Yes I am guessing. They could easily have stayed as well. Lighten up. We won at Hillsborough this aft
Planned strategy, they have a long term plan, they're American it what's they do in their sports. Covid has sorted out the chancers that aren't financially stable - Wednesday, Derby etc etc. Pity some of our supporters didn't have the patience, l can't wait for the next 2-3 years, l think we'll really develop.
not sure they planned Covid which is the only reason we are in the Championship. luckily the lack of crowds and everyone being skint has worked in our favour and turned us, for this season at least, into a solid lower mid table team but let’s not pretend it’s sone masterplan.
I’ll have to disagree with you. Not chancers, just football incompetents. Would genuinely loved to be proved wrong and they can do that in the next six weeks. Let’s see.
At what point did Keith Hill have the rug pulled from under him? After that point if we have the team together, that’s when I’ll start to get excited.
I think we need to enjoy tonight, massively (lol), but be prepared to accept that we will have the odd Cardiff or Bournemouth result in between the good stuff. We got away with it a few times today, which is incredibly rare at Hillsborough, and other teams will punish us. But, we've proven we can create plenty of chances too and will take more than we did today in some games. I'm just really enjoying competing in this division at the minute, with the only downside being that we can't be there to roar them on. I don't for a second expect or think we'll be remotely near a play office spot come the season end, but will be delighted if we carry on as we are and finish mid table. As you say though, one of the main things we're missing is a big Kieffer Moore type striker to hold the ball up. Get one and retain everyone else, and who knows what might happen.
