there is no EU / Australia deal. It’s bluster to make people think they are getting something. Farage has won. God help us all.
If the government comes back in the future and says because, as a country we don’t pay the EU anymore they’re going to cut taxes, I’ll show my arse in the co-op window. There’s no savings to be had. They lied to you, we told you they lied, they’ve admitted they lied, the fact you still want to believe them is a mystery.
Johnson and co never wanted a deal they've tried every trick in the book to make sure the EU don't trust our Government. Its all about their backers making millions out of our misery there's a reason the arch brexiteers like Cummings and co are jumping ship it's because they don't want to be around to take the blame when the **** really it's the fan. Don't be surprised if Johnson decides that as he couldn't do a deal it will be a convenient excuse to jump ship too and leave somebody else to deal with the chaos and economic **** storm that will arrive in the new year.
They claimed on Newsnight last night that Johnson and some of his colleagues are desperate to do a deal but are running scared of very powerful Tory backers who want to leave the EU to go it alone. It didn't go into any great detail. I'll watch Question Time tonight to see if someone gives a reason.
We have Helen. He's getting us prepared so it doesn't come as a surprise on Sunday if that is what is the final outcome.
What annoys me is when the answer to that is, “all politicians lie.” Well, we all lie at some time or another. But Johnson and the rest are engaged in deception. Surely that must be now clear to anyone with half a brain.
He's thinking of his bank account in January when his disaster capitalist backers settle the invoice for him delivering on a no deal brexit.
Talking about Lie's and deception hears just a few and there's 100's more. Liam Fox, The free trade agreement that we will have to do with the E.U. should be one of the easiest in human history. Michael Gove, The day after we vote to leave we hold all the cards and we can choose the path we want. John Redwood, Getting out of the E.U. can be quick and easy the U.K. hold all the cards. Nigel Farage, If Brexit is a disaster, I will go and live abroad. I'll go and live somewhere else.(hope that ones true) I really feel for the none racists that have been hoodwinked into believing the lies and still spewed out today by a clown of a P.M. with this Australian deal wish someone would tell him there isn't one.
“The past was erased, the erasure forgotten, the lie became the truth.” 1984. Orwell was a few years out but we're just about there...
On the bright side....I've a couple of grands worth of Euros bought last year when it was 1.20 to the pound ready for this years holidays ....should be worth a fair bit in a month or so
A deal similar to that operated by Australia - who like their current arrangements with the EU so much that they are currently negotiating a deal with the EU!!
Former Aussie PM Malcolm Turnbull on Question Time ( live link) now saying that basically their trading relationship with the EU is on World Trade Organisation terms and is quite honest in saying it's not ideal and the UK will probably experience detrimental effects if we agree similar. He added that Australia is in the throes of attempting to do a direct trade deal with the U.K. and hopes some of the difficulties like protecting the UK's Agricultural sector with regards to Australian imports can be resolved so that arrangement can be concluded.
Vague claim to fame, well my wife's vague claim to fame.......she worked with Andy Bell in Debenhams in Peterboro before he was in Erasure, selling ladies shoes, she was part time, still at school, he wasn't famous for being in Erasure but he was famous for being the most outlandish and gayest person in Peterboro at the time and "totally lovely" apparently. She was later his mum's carer. There we go.
I'd argue mass testing. Billions spent on incorrectly informing many more people that they've got a virus they don't have than correctly identifying people who have actually got it. Wonder how much could have been saved in terms of lives, money, jobs, mental health and the economy if they'd invested in blood oxygen monitors and oxygen tanks for those with symptoms?
