I was driving whilst the game was on last night. I'm not usually critical of Radio Sheffield, in the main I think they do a good job of play by play radio commentary. But when Styles scored, there was no emotion. Of course there was no crowd noise either. I found myself just repeating 'has it gone in? Has it gone in?' until Mark Crossley said, 'yeah it's a deserved lead you have to say'. It was like VAR for the radio.
I find Crossley's commentary dull and emotionless. Give me Matt Bailey any day of the week. I'm glad Matt was back last night, missed him greatly the previous two games
I do like Matt Baileys commentary, but he seems to miss more and more stuff. Maybe he needs new or better glasses. Last night he didn't see that their no. 7 had been subbed off as he walked off at the other side of the pitch. Come on Matt, get your eyes tested so you can keep commentating.
I don't like Crossley pointing out how bad we are. Even if we are, I dun't want to know. It's Barnsley iFollow - give me propaganda. Talk us up, even if we're in a bad position. Make me think we've a chance of getting back into it. He wasn't even a bloody Barnsley player, according to Wikipedia. I can forgive Hassell's negativity and moaning, because he is a legend to me.
If we're crap - we're crap mate. I don't want to be talked up at all, I just don't like that dull monotone commentary.
Same against Birmingham when we got the winner. I was in the bath with it on my phone. Wondering if we’d actually scored. It was the same years back when R Sheff had it. Adam somebody, Blades fan.. crap.
