Singing Barnsley's praises, saying how much they enjoy watching us play, not to let tonight's result get to the players, we'll rarely play against opponents as good as Bournemouth, we'll be fine this season and won't be in a relegation battle as we have too many good players.
Anyone else think this is going to be he dull, boring mid-table, nothing-to-play for after easter season we haven't had for absolute yonks?
I agree, I thought we played well tonight but came up against a very good team who will be there or there abouts at the end of the season.
They're right, we were the architects of our own downfall. Cauley Woodrow's halted dribble out of defence gave 'em their crucial second just before half time. Mads silly foul gave 'em the third. We could easily have had a couple from Chaplin's two squared passes across the face of the goal, not forgetting a similar one when Brittain squared it across the face of the goal late on. 0-4 flattered them; our mistakes sent them on their way.
Nice to hear that, we do have some good players. But too many were below par tonight and individual errors haver cost us dear in that defeat. However, Bournemouth will be up there in the shake up for promotion at the end of the season, so there's no reason to be disheartened at all. We shouldn't over react to one disappointing defeat, but use it as learning points to improve. We have one extra day to recover for the Wycombe game next Tuesday now. Onwards and upwards, Come on you Reds
I suppose Morrison was there to bat for us seeing as the other guest was an ex-Bournemouth player. He was right to praise us though, because it wasn't a 0-4 performance. What really galls me though, well apart from the fact that we can't seem to beat this small south coast team any more, is the fact that they only got one point from matches against Rovrum, Wednesday and Preston. How does that add up?? We made them look like a top European side tonight, which clearly they are not. They are just lucky enough to have retained some Premier League quality in the expectation of bouncing straight back. If only WE could have done that over 20 years ago
They were expecting our press and had planned how to beat it. They had several good chances in the first 10 mins before they scored. Weds & rovrum likely parked the bus, but we played into their hands. And we very nearly did bounce back 20 yrs ago!
This^ Bournemouth are a quality side you dont need to gift them opportunitys like we did. But we created chances and played some decent stuff at times.
