Against a much improved Forest team that we played earlier this season. I thought some of our play in the first half was a delight to watch, with our quick & accurate passing. However, Forest were always in the game, with Lolley and Taylor in particular causing us problems. Forest started the second period better and our defence had to stand firm. They did this well, restricting the opposition to one dangerous chance, a header from Taylor which was well saved by Walton.
Finally, after Woodrow had hit the woodwork again, Styles hit a superb shot into the far corner. A couple of minutes later, Woodrow got the goal that I thought his performance richly deserved.
Three much appreciated points and yet another clean sheet. Nothing to complain about as far as I'm concerned.
Initially, going into the last ten minutes, the MOTM award for me was between Brittain & Styles. But after that superb goal, how could I not give it to Styles?:D Well done to all the team and a special mention to Valerien Ismael for getting his substitutions spot on.

Well said mate as always. Agree 100%. Styles was MOTM today, but the goal has topped it off big time.

I hope this is just the start of something good down at Oakwell. I have been very impressed with Valerien and his style and tactics are superb. Long may it continue

I expected us to get beat. We were way too good for them. I know I'm crazy, but starting to think of a top half finish.

What I saw today was two teams who should be in the top half of the table. It was a great game and very open at times. For all of Forest's big names though, I think we had the quality players, particularly in players like Styles, Walton and the back 3.

    A great result.

It appears that Stendel had us scoring at will, but also conceding too easily.

Struber tightened things up at the back, but then everything dried up upfront.

Valérian has managed to find just the right balance.

Another brilliant performance, hard to beat and will hit you with a sucker punch if you take us too lightly. Can see many other 'massives' getting the same treatment this season.

We were always in the game but (under our new coach) look solid.I thought they could nick it but wow...what a brilliant battling performance...well done all round.

    Id have take 0-0 then as well - we do seem to like scoring world class goals at the moment dont we ;
MotM difficult but the 3 stand out players for me were Styles Walton and Brittain. Had we still had Radlinger in goal we would have been at least one if not 2 down by half time

I had nothing against Struber, but how nice is it to see some goalmouth action on a regular basis again!

at 83 mins i thought f**k this i'm going to have a pee and make a brew ( due to my hearing getting worse and being profoundly deaf at certain ranges, thank you aircraft start ups i wear headphones when on the computer) when i came back at 89 minutes and saw the score i must admit i may have said something along the lines of " well my my would you look at that we appear to have scored twice whilst i was urinating and making refreshments, who would have thought that, what a silly sausage i am ! ! ! "

Is this the same Forest who are about 6th from bottom and just sacked their manager after an abysmal run?

It is! It's the same Forest who finished outside the playoffs on goal difference last year. I don't think it's any coincidence that they've picked up since Hughton took over as manager. You could argue it was a new manager bounce, but they looked a completely different proposition to the one we've played the last twice. In both of those games, we completely dominated without hurting the keeper. Today was a much tighter game, and in the end, we had that bit more quality.

Fair play @archey I thought they were in a false position last season. Don't get me wrong, I'm well chuffed with our performance and results of late.

I tipped us as the dark horses this season.

    I'm sticking by it.

Great report, Mr JLWBigLil. Given the number of 'likes' could we possibly retitle this 'Majority Report'? :):):)
