I just watch it if Ronnie O' Sullivan is playing or until Ronnie O' Sullivan is knocked out or wins it. If Ronnie O' Sullivan isn't in the competition I don't watch it full stop.
EPSB regs say you have to wear a mask unless sat at a table. This was for the benefit of club players not professionals, but wonder if it is a result of that ruling?
No, but Hamilton, kicked up a massive fuss about it, because he pulled out due to concerns generally over COVID and lack of testing and after that the next tournament they started to wear.
It was funny, the ref sounded like a school teacher! A good match and Mark Allen was so close to a 147.
Is it just me or has O'Sullivan lost a bit of his Aura? Players that attack him and aren't intimidated by him beat him more now.
He's literally just won his 6th World Championship a little over 2 months ago, so no not really SD. He very rarely plays his best over the shorter formats. He just goes through the motions really.
I don't know. I think he won the World Championship in the Semi-Final. He shocked me when he ground it out v Selby.
In a way he was fortunate against Selby in that when he was 2 down with 3 to play he went all out and tried to pot everything. He did have a couple of fortunate bits of luck with pots/positioning iirc but you've still got to pot the balls with big pressure in a Semi-Final of the Worlds. He's still teh best but he doesn't take the smaller tournaments seriously for a number of years now. I think they have to play a certain amount of them, but he just goes though the motions. That plus it's easier to win 5 or 6 frames in shorter matches, so the outcome is a lot more uncertain
Like I say, lose 2 or 3 quick frames in the shorter format, they're under pressure. With the longer format, they don't worry so much as the "luck" evens out
