Hammill match fit, playing with Derry City, why not get him back in, we need a flair player up front, what have the club got to lose, plus a massive boost for fans
He was too slow when he left. Even Heckingbottom stopped picking him because he couldn't beat a man anymore.
I like you as a poster, but after last night he can not be worse than any of those forwards, but respect your opinion
He was never an out and out striker and no way is he quick enough now to play in one of our front 3. Its just possible he could get a game in central midfield but thats one area we are absolutely fine and I am not convinced that 3 years on even that is realistic. In any case we cant get him back as the international transfer window is currently closed.
I dont think it matters he was playing for a club during this closed window - I dont think he can play for another club until January. I might have that wrong though but in any case there is absolutely no chance it will happen. whilst were are being unrealistic - how about Sturridge - he genuinely is available and even if he is totally unfit has to be a better option than Schmidt or Victor
Wow, let it go. He’s not the player he was, nowhere near. Adam Hammill is playing in the Irish league because sadly he is no longer good enough to play in England. He couldn’t get a game in league two or even in a loan spell in the non-leagues last year. I have fond memories of him too, he was great for us in two spells, but he wasn’t good enough for the championship anymore when he left the club two and a half years ago, and has been at clubs of much lower standard ever since, not always even getting a game. More to the point he is registered to another club outside our transfer window and so we couldn’t get him in until January anyway, and we need to be looking for much better options for then.
And just what have we got at the moment, passion and pride goes a long way, our board hasn't even got that
He isn't good enough. Passion alone isn't enough to drag a team to a win. If I was given a game up front I would show more passion than anyone on the pitch as I would love to to get a game for my hometown club, that alone won't hide the fact that I am a woeful footballer. We have had one bad game last night, we need to re group and go again at the weekend and look to put things right. We played well at the weekend against one of the top teams. We lose one game to a decent Cardiff side and people seem to panic and scramble around for ideas.
