Defending corners

    As a kid we had it drilled into us that you defend the post at corners and only break when the ball is cleared.

    As a full back I hugged the post more than I hugged my mum - be interesting to see how many go in at the post and why teams don't defend them anymore

    Would help if our defenders actually challenged for the ball. No idea what Andersen and Helik we’re doing there. Plus Andersen panicked to give the corner away in the first place

    He got caught ball watching, and it’s an issue with the zonal marking. They don’t have a set person to mark.

    The other problem is their guy got higher than a normal forward by using the back of another player to gain extra height. But back to the OP a full back on the post would have stopped the goal

    Wasn’t either Millwall player that stopped Helik or Mads challenging tbh.

    But even with zonal marking, they watched the ball go over their heads, what did they expect to happen?!

    Exactly they just watch the players run at them. Mads proper ball watched.
