Lots of people to blame, lots of shameful people to be honest, for the situation we find ourselves in.

The Tories, the Brexit Party, everyone who voted for them, everyone who helped support them - including Labour party officials who worked against their own party.

Many of us tried to educate folk. Us 'crazy lefty' do-gooders, being all nice and that.

This last 12 months has been a disaster, that many of us saw coming. Not the virus, of course. But it's not a fùcking surprise that that's been handled so badly, and is being used - as was all the Brexit talk - to bring in changes and decisions that will cripple the less fortunate in society for decades to come.

The North should come together and oust these charlatans. People should be rising up and against.

What was it I saw yesterday - about 600 people in Wales have the virus, out of a population of over 3,000,000.

Makes absolute sense to lock it down. Of course.

What the hell is going on here, like??

if the government had gave in , then the other places would have done an oliver twist and asked for more. we all feel sorry for each other but the money give away is not a bottomless pit, and if the spread continues then eventually there will be no one to worry about,

If they can find money to give to sham PPE firms they can find it for the people of Manchester. Two Hats the lot of them.

The government are spending £80 odd billion on the HS2 white elephant, they can find the money when they want.

Sorry, yes you're correct. Sky initially reported the 10 million figure.

Exactly, the money's there - they just don't want to hand it over to local authorities where it's needed.

It's as I've said elsewhere, they are now trying to do COVID on the cheap. At the very least, 80% furlough should still apply.

What happened to what should be the government’s first priority, the safety and welfare of the population?

Apparently Andy Burnham wanted an additional £15m a month for the furloughed/self employed.

Rejected out of hand because they costed it up as a £90m. On that basis that's Manchester in Tier Three until April 2021.

600 is the amount who tested positive yesterday. They estimate how many people actually have it, as not everyone gets tested.

Yep. Exactly as I read it. That is literally hundreds of thousands of jobs lost right there and countless people on the streets.

The link someone provided up the thread seems to include people testing positive back in August. Still considered to have it but can't die of it. That's a good one
