It comes at a price. As I previously pointed out I collect and trade mostly vintage watches. I have offered to buy four (at the last count) a pint but I've decided that if I do, I have to bore you about watches while you drink it. my Mrs went ballistic yesterday as I'd filled the kitchen worktop with some of my watches and associated kit. I photographed them. As a bit of fun, can anybody guess which is the most valuable. There are two right answers, one by it's known value, one has a potential value. As a clue, two look exactly like what they are, one doesn't. One is going to Bonham's for auction, one is going to an expert for appraisal then back in my watchmakers safe where I keep most of my stuff. After 10 posts those who are right get an extra pint or whisky chaser. No googling please, although it might not help much.
I reckon the cheap looking leather one is going to be extremely rare and worth a lot of money but that's just a guess. I know as much about watches as Paul conway does about telling the truth.
Yeah, those are my thoughts as well. It looks a bit like it came out of a Christmas cracker, so it's bound to be worth thousands.
I had at least 2 of those when i was a kid, never knew they'd be worth anything. I think we chucked them away
I reckon the black Jaeger and the black face with beige strap may be rare. I’m guessing that there are quite alot of Seikos around? Agree with ST that the thin one looks very unusual.
The Seiko watch showing 17th October as a date with the numbers on the outer dial being in bright yellow. Looks like it’s from the 70’s with a retro feel
Thin brown leather strap, white face with blue rim. Only kidding about the Christmas cracker by the way!
Excellent, glad to see we're back on topic. Mine's a pint of something dark and malty, Sarah Hughes Ruby Mild would be ideal...
