Can we all agree which Barnsley players we are all going slag off and destroy for the rest of this season. Id like to only keep it down to a couple if thats ok as not to affect the team too much. I think its Thomas and Chaplin now are the leading contenders since Ritzy has gone. I think Anderson and Jordan Williams has been let back in for a while and Ben Williams luckily got injured to take himself out of the firing line but have we any other nominations? I was disappointed that Tom Bradshaw left because i really didnt like him, Thiam Mcgeehan, Cavare were all good game but unfortunately now departed. Anyway maybe we could turn on Frieser if we need any more than Thomas and Chaplin until Ben W comes back or Mads drops a bollock. Lets hope Christie Davies is rubbish so we have a back up plan.
Yes because Ritzmaier was an absolutely fabulous player who didn’t deserve any criticism ffs if players constantly play crap they will get critism.
It’s a forum to discuss the club & the teams performances. As long as nothing personal is aimed at the players & they aren’t abused directly on Twitter & Instagram I can’t see any issue with criticising players performances. We haven’t had enough end product from either Thomas or Chaplin particularly Thomas who’s had lots of opportunities & gets in great areas but creates very little. There’s nothing nasty about that it’s just what the eyes tell you from watching him.
Luke Thomas isn’t a bad shout, but he isn’t the first name on the team sheet like Ritzmaier was. Being crap AND still being picked every week is what elevated to whipping boy status. I like Chaplin, but this lean spell is becoming a problem. Although Cauley hasn’t scored from open play for months(!?), he certainly gets involved in the game.
Try www.everythingisawesome.com You'll like it, there are no opinions, no discernment, a **** sandwich is given exactly the same reverence as the finest home cooked meal.
I can't go on there Jay because I wouldn't have been able to make my post on my opinion on how I think some of the criticism of our own Barnsley fc players goes passed being a debate / discussion / criticism on how individual players have performed in a game to rather picking out scapegoats and monotonously and continously pulling these player apart. Young lads getting used to this level, giving there all in a league against experienced highly paid quality players and teams.
Er no, I wouldn't have played Ritzmaire maybe criticise the bloke more who kept on picking the wrong side. I wouldn't select Chaplin or Thomas at present either for numerous reasons.
So you agree that all 3 players you mentioned have been poor? So, are we allowed to criticism them? I think Thomas is quick and skilful. I also think that his final ball and decision making is appalling. When he beats a man I praise him. When he passes to the opposition I criticise. The trouble is that the latter happens a lot more often than the former.
Would Ritzmaire, Thomas, Chaplin get in to Bristol City's side? If the answers no then maybe we look at why and criticise that decision or reason as to why they get in ours. I believe each player gave as much as they could in a team, structure and division which determines or identifoes how good their output is.
We buy predominantley Lg1 or lg2 standard players in the main. So we shouldnt be surprised that when playing against predominantley championship quality players, they look inferior and struggle. Blame the recruitment team for that, ok they may have been bought to progress into a championship quality player but that takes time and unfortunatley we have to put up with the poor performances until it does, if it ever does.
Constructive criticism I understand. Calling a player gash. Crap. *****. Get shut. ( Williams had all those comments laid at his front door. And was never any of those, ) Doesn’t help. The Ritzy situation was caused by Struber. Choosing him over, what most of us thought at the time were better shouts on form. Styles was being ignored for example.
I think all three players have been below the required championship standard, I think they have given as much as they can in this team and formation. If Thomas and Chaplin had more options and better players around them then their end product may be better. It's all about the how the team is recruited, selected, organised and motivated. It's not right making individuals scapegoats for the team not winning.
It's not making people scapegoats. If people make mistakes then they are criticised. If it's the same people then they are criticised more often because they make more mistakes.
Every player in our team makes mistakes, wrong decisions, poor passes, etc etc etc we are focusing on 2 players in particular and having long threads on slating them. It happens season after season and is boring. I'll join in though let's put Chaplin in the U9s because he is the same size, he shouldnt wear our shirt again as he isn't good enough to score 20 a season, we would be better playing with 10 men because his arse isn't hairy enough. Thomas the useless swine, I could cross a ball in better than him not fit to wear the mighty red shirt, hearts of peas if they haven't the bottle to take a few players on and bang it in. And so on is that better.
Well no not really, as you've just thrown the toys out of the pram and spat the dummy. All people having been saying is that Thomas' decision making needs to improve, Ritzmaier brought very little to the side in an attacking capacity, and Chaplin has provided little end product since his purple patch earlier in the year. Nobody has said they have hearts of peas or owt. That's just you getting the lip on. If anything, deliberately changing the name of a player in a thread title is you being negative. How dare you.
We will just agree to disagree, it's no problem there is no throwing of toys from me just trying to share my point and thoughts as I think we single out players repeatedly when there is other factions that cause inconsistencies. Cheers.
