If this is our owners caring then I’d hate to see them getting pissed off with us .

I lost interest after the first paragraph. If Conway or Dane want to say something I'll try and weigh that up. In the meantime I'm just contemplating how many Ronnie Glavins you can get in a Mini Metro.

    I agree.

I can't stand the owners, but to say they don't care about league position and are only in this to make money is hugely contradictory surely?

I'm sure we're being very active behind the scenes. It's the quietest transfer window I've ever known and I've no doubt the players we're looking at or have have lined up are reliant on other clubs making signings elsewhere. Transfers are nearly always connected and you need someone to kick things off. It's why most clubs are scrambling around at the end. It isn't unique to Barnsley.

I'm indifferent to the owners. They've made some mistakes but they've got some things right as well. Each decision they make should be vilified or praised in isolation for me. On this one about only being interested in selling the assets/players for profit, there's just no evidence to support that claim. Not yet anyway.

It's like the old line that was aimed at a certain John Dennis, ''they don't want to go up" "they can't afford to go up".

    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cha...B2/plus/?saison_id=2020&s_w=&leihe=0&intern=0

According to this Championship clubs have spent £52M total this transfer window.

Even Brentford, Bournemouth and Birmingham who have received the highest incoming transfer monies haven't spent much (in comparison to received income). Bournemouth haven't bought anyone according to this report.

I think it's fair to say that all clubs are cutting spending back due to current uncertainties, not just Barnsley.

Will things go into overdrive in the next 2 days? We're about to find out

They are again about to sell the top scorer of the team in the last few days of the window if not the last day they still haven't replaced the top scorer they sold last summer and I haven't even mentioned brown going and them dismantling the defence last summer and replacing them with untried punts. But I'll start to believe they've started to care about league position if there are no more departures this window and at least 3 proven players are signed including a target man to replace Moore. The last 3 permanent head coaches have said the board lack ambition.

Heresay and speculation, if Murray's done even half of what has been claimed then he wouldn't be still at the club

Why would they do that though? Doesn't make sense to disrupt the playing side

No league position doesn't influence profit from player sales just look at Peterboro this summer with the sale of Toney it may not have been for the £10 million reported but it was still more than we've got for a striker since Ashley Ward was sold. What I probably should have said instead of they don't care about league position is, to them league position is of secondary importance to profit from player sales.

I have no idea what's he's accused of, but just saying that if he was in the suit's pocket then his job is as safe as houses

I don't believe anyone's job is safe in the football world nowadays. Which is why I think he hasn't disrupted anything, it doesn't make sense to put your job at risk

‘We have been focusing on getting players into positions where they can score goals and maybe not having them involved in the build-up so much’
Hmmm, Might we see Cauley ( if still here) or at least one of the other strikers playing up top?

Murray intimated Woodrow wasn't in the clubs plans when he was asked about a striker. He said we might have to go with what we've got. That wouldn't make me feel wanted if I was Woodrow. There's an agenda here. It's as if the club want to sell Woodrow.
