Attached article more or less says exactly what members of the BBS have been saying for some time. Such a shame really. Can only see the same thing happening in seasons to come, unless of course Conway and Co change their policy. https://www.theleaguepaper.com/fea...icIK6IRSMzH_S6YGl4Dehpwimn-vodrcln2kSpM7pgEC0
My m8 as loads of money buys the cheapest trainers and smart price food, don’t mean you will spend even if your rich we should get Tesco to sponsor us and become Barnsley smart price fc
Stopped reading after wind swept West Yorkshire tbh . He brought players in , he bought into and signed the conditions whether they were good or not . Just someone justifying moving for a **** load of more money and not admitting they’ve moved for a **** load of more money imo .
Shocking poor writing. Tries to pretend to have a scoop and then just rehashes old information Also using rumoured transfer figures as fact, he doesn't work for either club so he doesn't know. Completely ignored that Pinnock forced his way out and turned down a rumoured 10k and captaincy offer to stay. And ignores that whilst Struber was here we had a 2-3 million striker (rumoured) pull out last second for second season in a row.
Sadly the new coach won't be here in 18 months to 2 years time. Do well he'll be poached. Do badly he'll be sacked, it's just the way it is now
So as events stand on their record since they took over our club. ... As regards the present board Are they prudent owners committed to self-sufficiency? Or simply tight-fisted speculators piggy-backing on firm foundations to milk the club for a profit? Let us see where we are in a weeks time when the current transfer window has closed and see if Woodrow and Mowatt go the same way as the rest...
He used Preston as an example of balancing the books and some success on the pitch, despite the fact Preston rely on money from the owner every season.
Well they allege they've not taken a penny out of the club (though directors fees have show a considerable hike, so I think this may be another case of verisimilitude), and they certainly aren't making profits year on year despite selling players constantly.... and seeing as trying to be self sufficient without effort to increase revenues isn't providing a better product on the pitch..... its all a bit of a mystery as to why they bought us.
He knew what Barnsley were before he joined and knew when we stayed up we'd be in the same situation. He got notarity for his efforts and tears post Brentford game and then his agent tried to get him a better job. Seems to me managers / head coaches these days are becoming more outspoken than certain players. It was unheard of for managers to gob off about previous employers, especially when they knew what their remit is. What next the Halifax manager complaining that he never got Championship level funding? All managers I'm sure would want more money or a certain player. Wish he'd kept quiet and showed some self respect. Its not his money and it's not like when he took the job he had a gun to his head. He's done quite nicely out of being Barnsley manager.
So does my brother. ( originally from Jump) And his family. I salute them/you and our West Yorkshire brethren who support the tarn. I do follow fev and occasionally visit post office rd. My bro and kids and grandkids. Are season ticket holders at one or the other or both. ( Barnsley/fev) one of his daughters . My niece has brought shame on the family by marrying. ( I can’t even say it ) l—s fan. Grrrrrrrrr.
I think the comments about him knowing what he was in for have som truth. But does raise the question that if he knew and was ambitious why did he join. Was it oversold? Anyway I know what to expect from the future with these owners too so decisions to make before I renew my season ticket again
