Just looking at some people's reactions on social media to yesterday's and the inevitable news of Struber leaving. Here is an alternative perspective in my eyes..

    - Struber leaves, he takes the 'deadwood' with him ie Ritzmaier, therefore leaving a gap for Odour/Williams
    - The rigid formation goes, tactically the formation stifles both our attacking intent and the ability to move with the ball.
    - Players 'hopefully' to step up - the likes of Palmer, Christie-Davies, Wolfe, Simoes, Moon, Helliwell, Marsh all have yet to feature at length for us. Due to a number of factors, either the next coach in charge or Murray will look to youth to galvanise a low in confidence squad.
    - Players back in their normal positions - possibly the most infuriating factor in Struber's tenure, square pegs and round holes. Numerous examples can be stated over the past 11 months, Styles as a wing back, Woodrow in the hole, Simoes in the CAM role, Ludewig as a winger, Halme as a CDM. Struber consistently chopped and changed his starting 11 bringing a lack of consistency and understanding on the pitch. Look at our promotion season two years ago, Mowatt was flying, chipping with assists and goals regularly. Now, a damp squib on his high expectations, same can be said for a few others.

Do not get me wrong at all, Struber has had some very good performances combining with an unreal amount of luck to keep us up. However, I will leave you with this..

The shining light in all of this debacle, is that we are 4, yes 4! games into a new season. Whereas last year it was around the 20 game mark that we decided to relieve Stendel of his duties. There is no need to panic just yet, I am not saying all of this with rose tinted glasses on but I am showing you a different way of looking at things.

In regards to the board, you all know what they are like. Do you expect any different after a few years in charge?

Thought it was 11 league games.

Agree that there is time IF the right decisions are made.

To be fair and in my opinion Styles played well at wing-back and Simoes in the attacking midfield position.I honestly thought like most,a couple of quality additions Striker and a central midfielder would have made a massive difference to our league position this season.

Whether it is 4 games, 11 games, 20 games ......... it is the very fact we are once again having to start over again (again) that sticks in the throat. There is something not right ..... somewhere.

I thought that Mark Robins hit the nail on the head when he said that Barnsley were one of the best teams in the Championship WITHOUT THE BALL. He meant that Struber made us difficult to play against, but that counts for little if we don't make good use of the 60+% possession we had in games like Boro. We are so well drilled at stopping the opposition, but it has been at the expense of creativity when in possession.

Agree with most of this. I expect we will improve quickly as long as we don't appoint Murray

Correct I've seen this 60% possesion and barring Mowatt, Oduor, Williams and Styles the majority of the players don't look comfortable on the ball it's like a hot coal. They can't wait to get rid. I'd rather have less possession but know what to do with the ball.

Warnock said they were happy for us to just play in front of them and pick off the press with long balls.

Agree completely, as previously said in seasons gone by additions in certain positions would improve us significantly. The board do not understand this..

Forest game at home last year was a superb example, absolute domination for 90 minutes and one goal scored. We simply can't take our chances in this system..

We had to be good without the ball cos we give it away at the first opportunity .
Think it was more out of necessity rather than tactics lol.
Never seen a Barnsley team surrender possession as easily and frequent as the current team imo .

We haven't got a ball carrier in this current team other than Styles, when he's used as a wingback obviously it limits his performance..

There certainly is mate, no point whatsoever in focusing on the negatives because they are glaringly obvious to the normal footballing man. On our day, we proved last year especially in the final ten games. We can beat anyone, its now time to start showing it!
