This board have recruited a ceo in dane from America, a head coach from Austria. What are they selling to them about their vision for the club if these people are willing to uproot their families to come to barnsley, because I'm sure its not to stagnate at the bottom end of the championship. Why wont they give them the tools to do their jobs, ie players of a calibre to compete.
I'm sure danes mrs doesn't commute from America, and struber has uprooted and left his family a big call to move and leave them behind
Contrary to popular belief, I don't think the owners want us to 'stagnate at the bottom of the championship'.
No Danes Mrs doesn't commute but they've both moved for presumably jobs paying more money than the ones they had before. As far as Strubers concerned maybe that's why he was so pissed off because the board haven't lived up to their promises to him
Considering everyone who is anti-owners was convinced that Woodrow, Mowatt and Brown would be gone weeks ago is it not a positive that in a Covid era we've only sold Brown? The debate on Struber being backed or not has been done to death, but we did bring Ludewig back which looks like even more of a coup now he's signing for a Bundesliga team, and added Helik and Frieser. We're blatantly a couple of players short, but it's not like we haven't been attempting to bring them in. 99% done deal on the Croatian striker shows the intent is there. After that we're only really a right footed midfielder short. I think Struber has done more in these last four games to send us towards League One than the owners.
There's still time for Mowatt to go if he won't sign his contract extension as for Ludewig it would have been a coup if we'd signed him permanently as it stands it was just a waste of time and probably money.
I'm not against the owners at all, its just the sound bites we heard when they took over led us all to believe that they would with steady progress make us a championship force and have a tilt towards the premiership and we're yet to see any real signs of that
A stepping stone, hence the propensity to include release clauses. We should replace the club badge with a revolving door symbol.
Some people will view us as staying up being solely because Wigan were deducted points. Others will say we put a good run of results together, started playing well, and those that cheated were rightly punished. The signs of progression were there in the Summer. Even if you thought the board got lucky, it was almost universal that we thought what were a bunch of inexperienced kids had shown their real potential and would be far better equipped and far better players heading in to this season. We're a couple of players short that's for sure, but with better tactics and less round pegs in square holes, I think there's more to come from this team. It's been an awful start. But I'm still hopeful and optimistic. Until we go another six games without a win.
As hard as it is to believe, to get a job in English football especially with a Championship club is a career move, that will look good on their CV, that why people like Dane etc come here.
But again, that's probably their intention. Sometimes things don't go to plan. Maybe they didn't realise how big a job they'd taken on.
In Hindsight. Which is a wonderful thing. And it's only a waste of time and money if we don't sign a replacement before the Brizzle game.
