After pursuing him all summer and forking our such a big fee, I can’t believe you don’t have New Signing in the starting line up.

I'd say the same but with halme for Thomas.
Let halme play defensive midfield and let's finally allow mowatt to cross the halfway line like he did so successfully before struber came and tried to turn him into practically a defender.

I think mowatt still crosses the halfway line plenty. Problem is when he does, his end product has been woeful. I like Halme but I think struber's current system demands midfielders with more mobility. Mowatt and styles in the middle for me with j Williams at wing back. Woodrow showed once again that he can play the role behind the strikers. I'd then put Schmidt up front with Frieser. Simply because I think both Schmidt and Chaplin together is too lightweight and I think schmidt is probably our best finisher. Frieser hasn't been great in front of goal but his work rate is needed.

But Mowatt was getting one assist or goal in 3 prior to Struber. He hasn't suddenly lost his end product, ha being denied the opportunity to utilise it.

Woodrow and Mowatt are two of our best players. Maybe instead of the manager ruining them forcing a system that doesn't fit, in fact add odour in as the three best players and you realised he's wrecking all three. He won't play odour because he doesn't fit his daft system apparently, he won't play Woodrow as a striker because he doesn't and Mowatt is ineffective because he doesn't.

I'd rather watch those three play in a system that fits them than watch Ritzmaier and co in a system that fits THEM.

I agree. It does beg the question why, when we're desperately short of that creative spark in midfield, we're hampering ourselves by playing our most creative midfielder, far too deep.

A lot of those Mowatt goals and assists were in League One, to be fair.

Mowatt scored three last season. Two under Murray and one under Struber. He got 8 assists, one under Stendel. This doesn't really point towards an issue with the way he is deployed under Struber. And is perhaps partially related to the fact we now play on the championship. I would take your point if he wasn't getting into goal scoring positions, but he is. In fact several on here constantly complain about his poor finishing. And rightly so. I rate mowatt and think he does an excellent job for the team. However, to suggest that Struber is restricting his ability to get forward is not true in my opinion.

Good shout. Can’t make my mind up re Schmidt. Prefer Chaplin. but would like to see Frieser given the nod. If that makes any sense.
Edit. I would also consider Halme given a target man role. Alongside Woodrow And see how he performs.

Walton; Andersen, Helik, Sollbauer; Odour, Styles, Mowatt, Ludewig, Woodrow, Frieser, Schmidt.

Wouldn't be too bothered if Williams was chosen in place of Andersen on the left of a three, or Odour at LWB. Might even make a case for Williams to be the DM alongside Styles, with Mowatt and Woodrow both pushed further forward and Schmidt dropping to the bench.

He was getting them in League 1 not the Championship. its a bit of a step up to the opposition we are playing every week.
when we played to Mowat and Woodrows strengths as you call it in the Championship we were being hammered every week
when Struber changed the system the team has played much better. I dont always agree with the way Struber sets the side up but it has generally been fairly successful
Id certainly start Oduor ahead of Ritz but the system we play now has stopped us conceding 2 goals a game( unless we play one of the top 4 sides in the country) - the problem is we havent been scoring even when we have created the chances - Arguably that may be improved by moving Woodrow further forwards but I dont think moving Mowatt would make any difference

Team I would play against Coventry

    Walton
    Solbaur Helik Mads
    Ludwig Williams
    Mowatt Oduor
    Stiles
    Schmidt Woodrow

unless Palmer is fit in which case I would start him instead of Oduor as we have too many left footers in midfield at the moment

Its not what Struber will pick though ( well keeper and back 5 are) and I am sure Frieser and Ritzmare will start instead of Schmidt and Oduor and I am not sure whether he will start Woodrow

Given our struggles in front of goal I'd like to see Woodrow and Schmidt starting - our two best finishers.

    Walton
    Ludewig Sole Helik Andersen Williams
    Styles Mowatt
    Woodrow
    Schmidt Chaplin

I'd like to see Thomas starting too but I'm not sure Struber would start Schmidt and Woodrow together up front - they don't press as hard as Frieser and Chaplin

Yep you’ve nailed the team in my opinion. If you can do the motivational side then put your application in later in the season
