........ and listening to Gerhards latest interview he seems to be getting a bit concerned himself. Saying that if we don’t get these signings then we will face a season like last season. Listening to Gerhard did remind me of Hecky in the summer 2017.
Reckon today’s announcement that there’s unlikely to be any gate receipts for the entire season will have a negative impact on us making any signings if I’m honest. Think there’s a good chance we’ll go with what we have. If so it’ll be another tough fight for survival.
I'm not overly concerned, they are clearly looking to spend from all the Whiteman/ Sandro links but hasn't worked out as yet. I'm sure we won't be alone in the Championship in terms of minimal recruitment. Plan B should be shelving Plan A for a season and recruiting some decent loanees from the premier league teams to help us stay up.
They told us months ago they had learned from mistakes of 2019 under stendel but that was when they were wanting us to part with money for season tickets..... looks very similar to me even struber is openly criticising.
In fairness we will have no money coming in for a year so I’d wouldn’t be a great idea to take extra costs. Many clubs will fold. Let’s try and be realistic and bunker down til it’s over.
the problem about spending money when we have no income is like a lot of other clubs we might go out of business. Very few business can survive for a year with no income. If they let limited crowds in It will just host us more money. There’s worse things than relegation
Thanks. As you say concerned. Not so much criticising (redrum) As he acknowledges the situation all clubs face re finances. I think the main thing amongst all this is players in demand can still dictate terms to a degree. Those out of work not so much. Would be interesting to see the number of players out there thinking they can command wages above clubs means. Seems like the last one had his head turned at the last minute. Was it finances or preference of club. ?
No. This is not a normal season. I think we would have lost some players if it had been. I think we will have to stick with what we have got.
We may be reluctant to bring players in but I bet we'd be happy to let ours go. Purely undisclosed of course.
Oddly enough most clubs don’t sign players until towards the end of a window, it’s nothing sinister, just often waiting for other things to fall into place, often like a chain when buying a house.
I thought there would have been someone else in by today (Thursday 24.09.20). No news - is bad news. Longer this drags on - more concerned I’m becoming. We need at least 2. Central midfielder. Centre forward.
