totally respect your view but can I ask a question -

Why do you assume Simoes Diaby et al want you to take the knee with them?

 

Sorry, I didn't realise that only black people were allowed to take the knee. I don't need anyone else's permission to voice my disgust at the mistreatment of anyone else be it for the colour of their skin, their sexuality, their religion, their country of origin. You have continually spouted this self same rhetoric over the years that people need to be part of a particular section of society before you can pass comment. Well, I'm not a young girl so according to your argument, I can't express my disgust at grooming gangs.
I have not seen it expressed anywhere that Simoes, Diaby et al only want non whites to take the knee. Why don't you provide evidence that they do?

 

So a simple request form a lifelong Reds fan, who follows his team with his family home and away, for some support for his daughter and her dance group who train up to 30 hours a week has turned into a political and racist debate.

Absolutely no problem with that lil. My point being some of us believe it’s run it’s course earlier than others. A reasonable thought.( I feel I don’t need to take the knee and would not give a toss what anyone else thought. Only one person knows me 100% and that’s me. For some on here to think otherwise is their problem not mine.) That will eventually happen.
I have no problem at all. People doing it. I see it slightly like the clapping for someone who has passed away. Its come to the point where people are doing it and haven’t a clue who it’s about. As I’ve said before. Someone prominent in all our lives like Patrick. Norman someone who has come to everyone’s attention through their actions etc I understand. The rest I’d stick with the announcement we do at the end of the season. For this thread to turn into a them and us situation is just ludicrous.
If you have a problem with the vile abusers mate confront em.( you probably already do as I recognise that passion in your posts. ) Most of em hide behind social media. Tis what I choose to do. Criticising em that way gives em a taste of their own medicine. But don’t forget they are pea brained. And are rarely turned. Education is the way.

Do you not think that a lot of players are doing it not in support of their colleagues (Talking about all clubs not Barnsley as the example) ( Because those colleagues will know exactly where their teammates stand. It’s like Rafiq taking the knee knowing full well some of his white teammates are putting on a show..and if you don’t believe that then it’s naive.) genuine question mate. It’s just how I see things. I too can be cynical.
