But they're only breaking it in a very specific and minor way...almost like a lockdown trip to Barnard Castle.

Corbyn would have driven a coach and horses through the law by now.

Pardon me, I'm obviously way too critical. Johnson has no history of lying or being deceitful in the past. I take it all back

We've already established that they can do what they want - come the next election, everything will be forgiven and the gullible will vote for whoever The Sun/Express/Mail/Facebook tells them to aka The Tories.

Yep. Labour will be full of loony left, economically inept loonies, the Lib Dems will be wishy washy softies, the Greens will be unrealistic dreamers and the SNP will be a threat to everyone everywhere even though they just want Scots to take back control. Tories will get in.

And the Sun, Mail, Telegraph,Sky snd ITV had nothing to do with their decision .
    Honest Guv .

    Even more Tory apologists.

    But Corbyn.

    But Labour.

    But Lib Dems.

    But Greens.

It's so dissapointing. The failing of this government is the fault of nobody but themselves. It's as simple as that.

Its doing untold damage to the UK. We seem determined to wreck any chance of a viable relationship with the EU, and once we start disregarding treaties no one else will trust any deals they could make with us. Why should the likes of Spain respect the Gibraltar treaty for example.

Also the specifics of the way they plan to break it almost certainly will torpedo any chance of a trade deal with the USA and could well lead to troubles starting again in Northern Ireland.

Its also against their own manifesto - they were elected on the basis of the deal Boris had "negotiated".

its almost as if a foreign power was running the UK govenment in a way to cause maximum damage to Britain without actually launching missiles

    What a ridiculous conspiracy theory @Farnham_Red .
That would require someone with total power over the prime minister having lived in that foreign power for years without explanation.
    People aren’t THAT gullible surely?

Yep. Next time a foreign government breaks an international covenant or law how the hell does Britain tell them off? We can't.

Hopefully Scotland will ignore the act of union and give two fingers to it before going our own way.
The seeds of giving no respect to laws or treaties have been sewn.

At least you would have the excuse you didnt vote it into law

I am just wondering if this is actually a diversion - people will get so hung up on it they wont notice what else is in the bill. Not sure its really helpful for Scottish and Welsh devolution for example givng the Westminster government even more power over you again.

Yes Westminster clawing back power. But do what they want. They are rightfully hated and we have our Scottish elections next year which will give a very good pointer whether the Scottish electorate wants an inde vote.
Nicola has not mentioned and has purposely avoided any inde talk during this Covid crisis. But soon she will bang the drum and the March to independence will begin.
I honestly don’t think boris gives a hoot. Which is good.

Pardon the pun but I think Sturgeon is playing Johnson like a fish. I for one expect further support for independence in future opinion polls.

I could not agree with you more Pilot. Last poll I saw was 65% for and I’d be astounded if it’s not more now after recent Tory antics and their pathetic efforts to control Covid.
Boris doing a wonderful job for the SNP.
