NOTTINGHAM FOREST PREVIEW Match Previews It's time to approach our upcoming fixture in more detail, with an in-depth look at our opponents in Saturday's Carabao Cup first round tie. Continue reading on the official site...
Call me old fashioned, but I still don't like this Grove Street lark. It's only the last few months, but it's becoming more prevalent. We play at Oakwell, not Grove Street.
I think the stadium is about to be renamed. It'll become 'the xxxxxxx Stadium, Grove Street' instead of Oakwell. There's an unsubtle nudging go on to guide us away from referring to it as Oakwell. It's been confirmed on here that there's a reason for that, and we are told the reason is not a bad one. So I reckon that's what it is.
In fairness the second paragraph starts with "The reds welcome Nottingham Forest to Oakwell this weekend......."
Last year we got loyalty points for Carlisle. Will there be any points for this one, on off chance they help later in the season or points carry over
Yeah, i know..... But the 3rd paragraph says " the last fixture played on Grove Street..." It was the last fixture played at Oakwell, you can't play a game on Grove Street. Well actually you can, but it wouldn't be very practical or safe....
I'd like admin on here to set a rule that autocorrects all instances of Oakwell to Grove Street just to wind folk up. It's such a none issue.
Just pointing out it isn't a recent thing buddy. It's something I chose to start doing four years ago and for reasons I've outlined already. I'm sorry if it's something you aren't keen on, but with a huge audience to cater for we are bound to meet resistance at times. It boils down to it being an extra piece of terminology, another way to refer to the club/stadium. If we were replacing the use of Oakwell with Grove Street, I'd understand completely. But why would we? Anyway, I think we've done the topic to death. Let's hope you're back on Grove Street sooner rather than later cheering on the Yorkshire Red Tykes.
Lol mate, yes you can't get everyone to agree on stuff, life isn't like that. And yes, let's hope we're all back at Oakwell soon, cheering the Reds on
