    When the pandemic first hit our shores, sales of toilet roll and pasta boomed as people formed long queues outside supermarkets. In the US, the queues were long, sales boomed.... but guns were what the consumer felt were essentials!

    State militias against the government were a big thing in the 90s. 9/11 happened and everyone pulled together and went to war against terrorists (and oil rich countries not too friendly with the petrodollar trading currency, Saudi and Israel). The Iraq war, the global crash, Trump and social media have created a new vacuum for them to fill.
    Covid 19 was like the starting pistol for militias and survivalists to prepare for civil war.
    If Trump doesn't win in November but it's a close defeat (5-10 million votes: popular vote) will he ask for assistance?

    I've braced myself that Trump will win in November. Just because the last decade has seen dreadful results for anyone who seeks fairness, justice, equality and truth. I hope the tide is about to turn and this vile contrarian notion of "populism" is on the decline because its continuation and potential escalation would climax in catastrophe for humanity. But thats a hope not expectation.

    But yes, in answer to your point, can I see Trump using anything at his disposal to cling to power, including more and more lies... yes, I absolutely can.

    It’s not just that they can buy guns it’s the type of gun they seem to think they need!! You see the stores it’s like they are equipping a fking army, not just Joe down the street who for some reason thinks he ‘ needs’ an automatic assault rifle (with the extra large mag) and a bloody rocket launcher. :eek:​

    The NRA like to argue that the 2nd amendment clearly states you can be tooled like Arnie in Commando. It was written at a time when a tatty gun would have been considered a semi viable weapon.

    We watch old cowboy films on T.V. basted on the 1870s and '80s in the U.S. were anyone and everyone had a gun I know most of it is fantasy, but roll on 150 years and its come to pass this country is living in a fantasy world of the passed ware everyone and their dog as a gun. This country must be the most backward country in the world.

    The NRA have also said it's unconstitutional to amend the constitution to remove the right to bare arms. They don't understand the irony of how the second amendment is a erm amendment
