Let's be fair on the masks, government advice a few months ago was not to wear them, now its law. From any perspective that's confusing communication.
Yep. I've not agreed with everything you've written regarding lockdown but I have to agree regarding this. Imagine at 10.30pm on Christmas Eve him locking down places.
Went to supermarkets last night in south Leeds. I was in the minority wearing a mask. Plenty holding it in their hands the whole time. Fully air conditioned shops. There is no excuse. There will be a small minority exempt including children, granted. Not more than half the whole store though! If people want to support businesses they can do so by doing their bit and taking precautions, not being cnúts about it.
My view was there was never any issue over the validity of masks, what they were not wanting was a rush on them when they didn't have enough to go round. Easier to pretend the "science was out". It never was, see surgeons.
Only if we’re in the Championship though. Don’t want to even think what will happen if we end up in L1....
“the science changed” unless they resurrected Einstein I don’t think so. Johnson got found out bumbling away about Cummings plan on good morning Britain about herd immunity. it was then pointed out it was a stupid idea.
It's society that is the problem and selfish people that don't shield their faces when coughing and sneezing. It's those people that still refuse to wear face masks. It's the bus drivers that are owt for a quiet life and rail guards that don't tell people to wear masks that are the problem. It's people that don't wash their hands after covering their faces etc. Yes I know the government has made a ballax of this pandemic but they don't control people being selfish tw ats.
A lot of truth in that, I've always been amazed how many people (especially in pubs) don't bother to wash their hands after going to the toilet. Its disgusting.
I have to face patients that still don't wear masks in spite of it being law in enclosed public places and there being signs up everywhere asking patients to wear masks. There's never a copper when you need one.
I went to Morrisons last night and didn't see anyone without a mask, including staff. One guy in his approx 50s only had it over his mouth not nose and one woman in her 20s lifted it down in the queue whilst checking her phone, but I can't remember seeing one person without a face covering which surprised me.
That's good. I went to Asda and Aldi in Middleton and it was appalling. All age groups flouting it, no ***** given.
I'm getting to the point where I want to speak out but I aren't backed by the powers that be. Whether that be at work or on public transport.
Face coverings/masks were always available be it cloth masks or owt else you could use. It was only clinical masks. ( which were taken by border control if any large amounts were being ordered by companies such as yorks water. ) that we’re reigned in for the NHS. Non clinical masks Were all over the internet via eBay and most folk have scarves surely. Would have eased the spread in my view. What did they say. Wearing a mask reduces the possibility of passing covid onto others. And making the point it doesn’t stop you getting it. Was one of the classic statements of all time. Some People didn’t manage to put 2 and 2 together. Why the hell didn’t they make a positive point at the time and say let’s all try to reduce the risk. All masks or face coverings in public spaces to be worn mandatory. Science at the time overtaking common sense. Science needs time. Having a heavy cold. How many people put scarves round their mouths in the hope of not wanting to pass it round. without scientific evidence. Common sense. Yet folk are still playing with the idea.
Virtually no chance I'll be able to work till next spring. Was ******* difficult to take for a few months, but now I'm just numb to the whole thing & c'est la vie. I hate the Tories. That said they have introduced some decent, semi socialist measures, but the thinking overall is not joined up. If you are a small business owner, you are either cashing in or totally screwed pretty much.
The bit which tickled me was that you aren't allowed to meet with members of another household to go to the pub. However, you can meet with members of other households at the pub. As you will be surrounded by members of other fecking households. Who concocts this *****?
