Despite previous windows being very poor there is still going to be a lot of positivity and optimism from our fans. I don't think the reality will match the anticipation in fact I reckon it will be like waking up on Xmas day and excitedly opening the beautifully wrapped present under the tree only to find a great big pile of stinking dog**** inside.

As per the article, No, they can't play until 20/21 season. What is so hard to understand about this?

They can't play until the start of the 20/21 season, as per the article. And you didn't mention anything about dealaying the season in your original question. Are we supposed to be psychic now as well. Lol

In such uncertain times, I wonder where clubs going to find the money to bolster their squads.

I expect there’s going to be a lot of shocked players who’s contracts are ending and are expecting to pick up another big pay day, if one good thing comes form 2020 it might be “some” reset to the ridiculous wages being banded about.

You’re missing the point, others got it.
As explained by RC Tyke a player for Brentford could sign for Fulham (play for them next year) but because the season hasn’t ended could in theory then play against Fulham in the Play Off Final.

That seems quite passive aggressive. Not like you

I thought it seemed obvious what he was asking really. Not even club will have finished the season when the window opens. If a player moves to another club will he still be allowed to play for his current club? I imagine that if they move then he won't be allowed to play for anyone

You're completely missing the point of his question.

Let's say that forest sell their goalkeeper to Fulham. The keeper isn't allowed to play for Fulham until next year.

IK311 Asked if the keeper will still be allowed to play for forest this season and what happens if they play Fulham in the playoffs.

You keep repeating that he can't play for Fulham yet which isn't what he's asking

For what it's worth I assume he won't be playing for anyone. As soon as he is sold he can't play a game for anyone at all until next season starts. Can't play for Fulham as the article explicitly says so and can't play for forest because he's no longer a forest player.

I think they will be still owners willing to spend in some cases money they havent got. And clubs like ours will sell there better players for even less.

I understood the question perfectly ST. if Fulham or anyone sign a player, he can't play for anyone until the start of the 20/21 season, including this season's playoffs

There is only ONE permutation here.

A player signs from Team X to Team Y. If Team X and/or Team Y are in the playoffs, the player can't play (for anyone) until the start of the 20/21 season. That includes not playing (for anyone) in the 19/20 Playoffs

You’re assuming that though. The article provided in this thread only mentions about playing for the new club, absolutely nothing regarding their current club.

I haven’t gone reading up about this topic and have only the knowledge from the article in this thread so if you’ve read something from elsewhere, maybe you should provide the evidence.

No it doesn’t, it says he can’t play for the new team, it does not mention the team he currently for.

As others have said, I have also not researched the issue and have asked the question based on the article attached, you have either read the question and/or the article wrong or have info that is not in the article which confirms what you have said?

That could well be the case, but would imagine dependant on contract(maybe), as in if have 2 years left Forest you would think would put something in to exclude.
